Before we move on to the sectional tips, take proper note of following -

  • Since the composite time of 1 hour has been provided, you need to take proper care of Time Management. This is important because you need to attempt sufficient questions in order to clear the sectional as well as the overall cutoff. This will be a tough job if you do not divide proper time among all three sections. Take a look at the previous year RBI Assistant cut off for a better idea.
  • Apart from this, focus on your Speed and Accuracy as well. These factors are vital for any exam. There is no point attempting a huge number of questions if you don’t attempt them accurately because negative marks penalty will only ruin your chances of making the cut.

Sectional Strategies

As we have been repeatedly saying, select questions that you attempt first smartly. Try to attempt topics that are less time consuming first. We have listed below such topics that should be attempted first from different sections.

English Language

Try to attempt following topics first -

  • Cloze Test
  • Fill in the blanks
  • Spotting Errors
  • Vocabulary based questions from Reading Comprehension.
  • You can attempt the para jumbles and reading comprehension questions after you finish these questions if the time permits. If the RC provided is story based, you can change the order and attempt it first since such passages are comparatively easy.

Quantitative Aptitude

Try to attempt the following topics first in this section -

  • Number Series
  • Simplification/ Approximation
  • Data Interpretation (Ratio and Average based questions)
  • After you are done with these topics, you can move on to the miscellaneous questions if there still is time.
  • Do not spend more than a minute or two on any particular question. If you have even a little doubt on the question, it would be advisable to move on to the next and come back to it if the time permits.

Reasoning Ability

Try to attempt the following topics first in this section -

  • Inequality
  • Syllogism
  • Coding – Decoding
  • Some miscellaneous questions like blood relations etc.
  • After you are done with these questions, you can go for puzzles/ seating arrangement or the remaining questions if the time permits.

Time frame for each section -

Like we have previously mentioned, the stronger and weaker areas in the different sections vary from student to student. Hence we have provided a time range within which you should try to finish your particular section. Make sure that you manage sufficient time for each section.

Quantitative Aptitude

Do’s and Don’t for the Exam –

  • Do not panic once the exam starts. Stay calm and start with the section you are most confident about.
  • Do read the questions properly first.
  • Do attempt the questions in the time you have assigned for each section and try not to spend more time than that.
  • Do not spend too much time on any one question.
  • Do not use guess work.
  • Do not forget to take along the photograph (same as that on the admit card) and xerox as well as the original ID proof with you.
  • Take a couple of copies of your RBI Assistant admit card.

Remember,

Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations.

So, don’t be bothered about how you’ll perform. Give your best in the exam tomorrow and have faith that your hard work will not go in vain.

All the best for your exams.
