Dear gradians,
Here is an interesting banking fact related to Reserve Bank of India. Did you know, India isn't the only country for which RBI has acted as the Central Bank?
- RBI acted as the Central bank of Burma(now Myanmar), except when it was occupied by Japan during 1942-1945. RBI continued this role until April 1947, even though Burma seceded from the Indian Union in 1937.
- RBI also served as the Central bank of Pakistan after partition in 1947 and continued its operations till June 1948, when State Bank of Pakistan was formed.
