To help you know the strategies followed by successful candidates who cracked Banking and Insurance Exams, we are here with a series of success stories. In these stories, the candidates have shared their preparation strategies, the obstacles they faced while preparing for the exam, and how in the end, they were triumphant.
Today, let us delve into the experience of Nahid Iqbal, who cleared IBPS RRB Officer Scale-1 2019. Let us hear it from the candidate.
IBPS RRB PO Success Story: Nahid Iqbal
I am from Gumla, a small town in Jharkhand. I got selected in IBPS RRB PO 2019. I thank my parents for supporting me throughout my journey. Also, I would like to thank BYJU'S Exam Prep for providing me with efficient test series and daily quizzes.
There is a lot to say about my journey. Since my school days, I wanted to work in a government organization. I started preparing after my graduation. That year after failing in SBI PO MAIN, it was a serious time for me to take a break just to see where I was lacking, even though I was working very hard. And I discovered all my weaknesses and overcame them. I also discovered my strengths and made those areas even stronger.
If you are working hard but you don't have a clear image of what your targets are, you are just hitting the bush. I must say that in such a scenario, your hard work will go in vain. Because in this highly competitive world, where everyone is working very hard to achieve what they want, you have to do something specifically different from others to get an edge over others. And here smart work added with hard work will take you to ultimate destination.
Exams I have given:
SBI PO- Failed in mains.
FCI - In waiting list
SBI clerk- Out in Pre
EPFO - Out in Pre
IBPS RRB PO- Finally selected
IBPS clerk - Cleared Pre( not give mains)
Next target: SSC CGL
Preparation strategy
Now I am coming to the point how to deal with different stages efficiently.
Preliminary
Clear all your basics and start giving Mock tests. Because speed with accuracy matters the most and for that, you should have a good hold on your fundamentals. I used to give 1 mock test daily.
Main
Since you have cleared prelims means your basics are clear, Now focus on high level mocks and GA. Practice high-level questions daily with 1 mock and its analysis will help a lot. I used BYJU'S Exam Prep , Practice Mock and Testbook test series.
General Awareness
This section is the game-changer. In fact, your selection largely dependent on this section. So never do the mistake of ignoring this. I used to learn GA daily from Kapil Kathpal Sir's daily the Hindu editorial and revise at the end of the week. After prelims, I started revising from monthly affairs cloud pdf and BYJU'S Exam Prep Capsule. For Banking Awareness static , again from Kapil Kathpal's banking awareness class in Unacademy.
* My score in mains- 94.88/200
Interview Round
After clearing mains, comes Interview. For this, the most important thing you have to do is to "Be You" in front of the panel members and don't even think of trying to act smart. Your knowledge has already been checked now it is time for them to check your confidence, dedication, and honesty.
*My score in interview-73/100
*Total marks obtained- 52.52/100
( final cut off - 46)
Here is my favorite quote, which I believe in: "Expect less and Do more"
And yes never forget to pray every day, it helps you to stay positive.
Feel free to ask any query regarding your preparation. I'll try to answer them if I would be able to. All the best to my fellow aspirants!
