SOLUTION

1. All the evidence was against him and he was held guilty.

Explanation – Evidence is an uncountable noun. It has no plural form. So, singular verb was should be used.

2. My cousin is a cheat and he cheats his family members and friends too.

Explanation – Cousin brother and cheater are words formed in India due to Indianization of English Language.

3. The cattle in the meadow were terrified to hear the roar of a lion which appeared to be wild with anger.

Explanation –  Cattle is a plural noun. Change was into were.

4. Many women reconcile themselves to the demands of their in-laws.

Explanation – A Reflexive pronoun must follow reconcile. Add themselves after reconcile.

5. Owing to my being a new comer I was unable to get a good house.

Explanation –  Possesive case (my) before Gerund being.
