  • Meaning: ruling or dominant in a political or social context.
  • Synonyms: dominant, authoritative, foremost
  • Antonyms: minor, dependent
  • Usage in a Sentence: They discussed the national government's hegemony over their tribal community.

4. Word: Lingering (सुस्त ).

  • Pronunciation:  linger-ing/लिंगगरिंग
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    lasting for a long time or slow to end
  • Synonyms:  persistent, consistent
  • Antonyms: hasty, hurrying

  • Synonyms: annoying, irritating, exasperating, infuriating, alluringseductivetempting
  • Antonyms: soothing, calming, boring
  • Usage in a sentence: Regional theatre is new, exciting, provocative and makes people talk.

9.  Word:  Manoeuvre (पैंतरेबाज़ी करना).

  • Pronunciation: muh-noo-ver/मनूवर
  • Part of Speech: Noun, Verb
  • Meaning:
    a. move skilfully or carefully.
    b. carefully guide or manipulate (someone or something) in order to achieve an end.
  • Synonyms: artifice, manipulate
  • Antonyms: innocence, sincerity
  • Usage in a Sentence: His resignation from the competition was a tactical manoeuvre.

10. Word: Clandestine (गुप्त).

  • Pronunciation: klan-des-tin/ क्लैन्डेस्टिन
