  • Meaning
    a. causing disagreement or discussion
  • Synonyms: contentious, disputable, debatable
  • Antonyms: agreeable, peaceful, 
  • Usage in a sentence: They hold widely divergent opinions on controversial issues like abortion.

3. Word: Undue (अनुपयुक्त)

  • Pronunciation: un-dew
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    at a level that is extreme, not needed
  • Synonyms: excessive, extreme, immoderate
  • Antonyms: due, appropriate, proper
  • Usage in a sentence: Because of undue stress, the doctor decided to take a break from working at the hospital. 

4. Word: Clandestine (गुप्त).

  • Pronunciation: klan-des-tin/ क्लैन्डेस्टिन
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning: kept secret or done secretively, especially because illicit.

  • Antonyms: public, open, visible, blatant

5. Word: Probe (जांच करना)

  • Pronunciation: prohb/ प्रोब
  • Part of Speech: Noun, Verb 
  • Meaning: 
    a. a thorough investigation into a crime or other matter. [Noun]
    b. explore or examine (something), especially with the hands or an instrument. [Verb]
  • Synonyms: scrutinize, inquiry
  • Antonyms: glimpse, absurd
  • Usage in a Sentence: I don't want to probe too deeply into your personal affairs.

6. Word: Exchequer (कोष)

  • Pronunciation: eks-chek-er, iks-chek-er/ एक्स्चेकर
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: the former government office responsible for collecting revenue and making payments on behalf of the sovereign, auditing official accounts, and trying legal cases relating to revenue
  • Synonyms: treasury, bank, coffer
  • Antonyms: liabilities, debt
  • Usage in a Sentence: There's nothing left in the exchequer this month.

 7. Word: Irony (विडंबना)

  • Pronunciation: ahy-ruh-nee/आइरनी
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: 
    a. a situation in which something which was intended to have a particular result has the opposite or a very different result
    b. the use of words that are the opposite of what you mean, as a way of being funny
    c. a type of usually humorous expression in which you say the opposite of what you intend
  • Synonyms: sarcasm, satire, mockery, ridicule
  • Antonyms: honesty, frankness, sincerity
  • Usage in a sentence: The irony is that his mistake will actually improve the team's situation.

8. Word: Votary (समर्थक,भक़्त)

  • Pronunciation: voh-tuh-ree/वोटरी
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: a devoted follower, adherent, or advocate of someone or something
  • Synonyms: devotee, disciple, follower, adherent
  • Antonyms: mentor, wayfinder
  • Usage in a sentence: He was a votary of John Keats.

9. Word: Replicate (दोहराया जाना)

  • Pronunciation: rep-li-kit / रेप्लकिट
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning: make an exact copy of; reproduce.
  • Synonyms: duplicate, copy, reproduce
  • Antonyms: manufacture
  • Usage in a sentence: Researchers tried many times to replicate the original experiment.

10. Word: Siege (अवरोध)

  • Pronunciation: seej/ सीज
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: a military operation in which enemy forces surround a town or building, cutting off essential supplies, with the aim of compelling those inside to surrender.
  • Synonyms: blockade, beleaguerment
