  • Synonyms: mutual, reciprocal
  • Antonyms: common, depressed
  • Usage in a sentence: They have been negotiating a bilateral trade deal.

3. Word: Stark (कठोर,बिलकुल)

  • Pronunciation: stahrk/स्टार्क
  • Part of Speech: Adjective, Adverb
  • Meaning:
    a. empty, simple, or obvious, especially without decoration or anything that is not necessary (Adjective)
    b. harsh, grim, or desolate, as a view, place, etc.(Adjective)
    c. means completely clear (Adjective)
    d. completely or extremely (Adverb)
  • Synonyms: austere, dour, fierce, flinty, forbidding, grim
  • Antonyms: benign, benignant, gentle, mild, non-intimidating, tender

4. Word: Haul (बलपूर्वक खींचना)

  • Pronunciation: hawl/ हॉल
  • Part of Speech: Verb, Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. (of a person) pull or drag with effort or force. (Verb)
    b. (of a vehicle) pull (an attached trailer or carriage) behind it. (Verb)
    c. a quantity of something that has been stolen or is possessed illegally. (Noun)
  • Synonyms: drag, pull, tug, trail, draw, transport, move
  • Antonyms: push, force, press, shove
  • Usage in a sentence: The car was hauled away to the junkyard.

5. Word: Hitherto (अब तक)

  • Pronunciationhith -er-too/हिदर्टू
  • Part of Speech: Adverb
  • Meaning: until now or until the point in time under discussion.
  • Synonyms: yet, so far, till date
  • Antonyms: currently, instantly, recently
  • Use in a Sentence: All attempts to make hydrogen enters into stable chemical union have hitherto proved unsuccessful.

6. Word: Emerge (निकलना, उभर कर आना)

  • Pronunciation: ih-murj/इमर्ज 
  • Part of Speech:  Verb
  • Meaning: 
    a. move out of or away from something and become visible.
    b. become apparent or prominent.
  • Synonyms: come out, appear
  • Antonyms: disappear, fade
  • Usage in a Sentence: On the contrary the Government will emerge from this crucible of fire even stronger. 

7. Word: Casualty (आपद)

  • Pronunciationkazh-oo-uh l-tee/ कैश़ूअल्टी
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning
    a. a person killed or injured in a war or accident.
    b. a person or thing badly affected by an event or situation.
  • Synonyms: victim, disaster, mishap, calamity, injured
  • Antonyms: survivor, salvage, strengthen 
  • Usage in a sentence: The real casualties in the war against drugs are millions of innocent children. 

8. Word: Conscription (अनिवार्य सैनिक सेवा)

  • Pronunciation: kuhn-skrip-shuhn/कन्स्क्रिप्शन
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. compulsory enrolment of persons for military or naval service; draft.
    b. a compulsory contribution of money to a government during a time of war.
  • Synonyms: draft, muster, enlistment
  • Antonyms: dismissal, detachment
  • Usage in a sentence: Ever since the war began he's been worried that the government will introduce conscription.

9. Word: Dichotomy (द्विभाजन)

  • Pronunciation: dahy-kot-uh-mee/डाइकाटमी
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. a difference between two completely opposite ideas or things
    b. the division of two things that are completely different
  • Synonyms: duality, difference, split
  • Antonyms: similarity, alikeness
  • Usage in a sentence: There is often a dichotomy between what politicians say and what they do. 

10. Word: Prevalence (प्रचलन)

  • Pronunciation: prev-uh-luh ns/प्रेवलन्स
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning
    a. the fact that something is very common or happens often
  • Synonyms: incidence, occurrence, paramountcy
  • Usage in a sentence: They noted the prevalence of this attitude among leading financial experts.
