7. Word: Obscure (अस्पष्ट)

  • Meaning:

    c. keep from being seen; conceal. (Verb)

  • Meaning:
    a. a thing that existed before or logically precedes another. (Noun)
    b. a person's ancestors or family and social background. (Noun)
    c. preceding in time or order; previous or pre-existing. (Adjective)
  • Synonyms: predecessor, precursor, preceding, previous, ancestor
  • Antonyms: following, after, descendant, subsequent
  • Usage in a sentence: What are the antecedents of the American Revolutionary War?

9. Word: Smack (थप्पड़/तमाचा मारना/ठीक)

  • Pronunciation: smak / स्मैक
  • Part of Speech: Noun, Verb, Adverb
  • Meaning:
    a. a sharp slap or blow, typically one given with the palm of the hand. [Noun]
    b. strike (someone or something), typically with the palm of the hand and as a punishment. [Verb]
    c. exactly; precisely. [Adverb]
  • Synonyms: slap, whack, bang, hit
  • Antonyms: off, indirectly, inexactly
  • Usage in a sentence: I think it's wrong to smack a child.

10. Word: Conducive (हितकर)

  • Synonyms: advantageous, helpful, contributory, favourable

11. Phrase: To raise eyebrows (भौंहें चढ़ाना)

  • Pronunciation: टू रेज आईब्रोस
  • Meaning: To cause other people to react with surprise or mild disapproval 
  • Usage in a sentence: In the exclusive restaurant where they dined, Nicola noticed that he'd only to raise an eyebrow and a waiter came hurrying to attend him.
