  • Synonyms: dread, fear, anxiety, worry
  • Antonyms: confidence, calmness, ease
  • Use in a Sentence: The change in the law has caused apprehension among many people.

3. Word: Stigmatise (कलंक लगाना)

  • Pronunciation: stig-muh-tahyz/ स्टिग्मटाइज़
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning:
    a. to set some mark of disgrace or infamy upon:
    b. to mark with a stigma or brand.
    c. to produce stigmata, marks, spots, or the like, on.
  • Synonyms: denounce, defame, shame 
  • Antonyms: honor, acclaim, applaud
  • Usage in a sentence: The crime of the father stigmatized the whole family.

 4. Word: Confer (प्रदान करना)

  • Pronunciation: kuh n-fur/ कन्फर
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning: 
    a. grant (a title, degree, benefit, or right).
    b. have discussions; exchange opinions.
  • Synonyms: accord, bestow
  • Antonyms: deprive, disclaim
  • Usage in a Sentence: He wanted to confer with his colleagues before reaching a decision.

5. Word: Invoke

  • Pronunciation: in-vohk/
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning
    a. to call for with earnest desire; make supplication or pray for
    b. to call on (a deity, Muse, etc.)
    c. to declare to be binding or in effect
    d. to invoke the law; to invoke a veto
    e. to appeal to, as for confirmation
    f. to petition for help or aid
  • Synonyms: call forth, summon, conjure, evoke, appeal
  • Antonyms: dismiss, avoid, avert, abandon, demote
  • Usage in a sentence: Police can invoke the law to regulate access to these places.

6. Word: Sacrament (संस्कार/प्रतिज्ञा )

  • Pronunciation: sak-ruh-muhnt /सैक्रमन्ट
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. an important religious ceremony in the Christian Church, such as baptism or communion
  • Synonyms: rite, liturgy, ritual
  • Antonyms: denial, disarray
  • Usage in a sentence: They wished to administer the sacrament of unction. 

7. Word: Futile (निरर्थक)

  • Pronunciation: fyoot-l/ फ्यूटल
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning: incapable of producing any useful result; pointless
  • Synonyms: useless, unavailing, ineffective, fruitless
  • Antonyms: productive, useful, fruitful
  • Usage in a Sentence: Trying to please other people is largely a futile activity.

8. Word: Cede (सौंप देना)

  • Pronunciation: seed/सीड
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning:
    a. give up (power or territory)
  • Synonyms: yield, surrender, relinquish
  • Antonyms: defend, refrain, arrogate
  • Usage in a sentence: The General had decided to cede power by this month.

9. Word: Proposition (प्रापज़िशन)

  • Pronunciation: prop-uh-zish-uhn /प्रस्तुत करना
  • Part of Speech: Noun, Verb 
  • Meaning:
    a. an offer or suggestion, usually in business (Noun)
    b. a plan or scheme proposed (Noun)
    c. an offer of terms for a transaction, as in business (Noun)
    d. a thing, matter, or person considered as something to be dealt with or encountered (Noun)
    e. to propose a plan, deal, etc. to (Verb)
  • Synonyms: proposal, suggestion, idea, plan
  • Antonyms: refusal, denial
  • Usage in a sentence: I've put my proposition to the company director for his consideration.

10. Word: Incite (उकसाना)

  • Pronunciation: in-sahyt/इन्साइट
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning:
    a. to encourage someone to do or feel something unpleasant or violent
    b. to stir, encourage, or urge on; stimulate or prompt to action
  • Synonyms: provoke, stimulate, encourage
  • Antonyms: deter, calm, subdue
  • Usage in a sentence: She incited racial hatred by distributing anti-Semitic leaflets.
