5. Word: Constraint (प्रतिबंध)

  • Pronunciation: kuhn-streynt/कन्स्ट्रैन्ट
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. limitation or restriction.
    b. repression of natural feelings and impulses:
  • Synonyms: restraint, restriction, limitation
  • Antonyms: permission, liberty, freedom
  • Usage in a sentence: There are many constraints associated with imposing lockdown. 

6. Word: Constituent (निर्वाचक/तत्व)

  • Pronunciation: kuhn-stich-oo-uhnt/कन्स्टिचूअन्ट
  • Part of Speech
  • Meaning:
    a. serving to compose or make up a thing; component:
    b. having power to frame or alter a political constitution or fundamental law, as distinguished from lawmaking power
  • Synonyms: component, element, part 
  • Antonyms: whole, aggregate, amalgam
  • Usage in a sentence: The MP worked hard, always talking to his constituents and listening to their problems.

7. Word: Rut (लकीर डालना)

  • Pronunciation: ruht/रट
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. a furrow or track in the ground, especially one made by the passage of a vehicle or vehicles.
    b. any furrow, groove, etc.
    c. a fixed or established mode of procedure or course of life, usually dull or unpromising
  • Synonyms: groove, furrow, heat
  • Antonyms: break, closing
  • Usage in a sentence: I've been in a rut for a long time.

8. Word: Lag (अंतराल, पिछ)

  • Pronunciation: lag
  • Part of Speech: Noun, Verb
  • Meaning
    a. fail to keep up with another or others in movement or development. (Verb)
    b. a period of time between one event and another. (Noun)
  • Synonyms: linger, delay, trail, loiter
  • Antonyms: hasten, rush, bustle, bolt, hustle

9. Word: Contract (अभ्युपाय/करार करना)

  • Pronunciation: /कान्ट्रैक्ट

  • Meaning:

    b. an agreement enforceable by law (Noun)

10. Word: Stagnate (रुद्ध करना)

  • Pronunciation: stag-neyt/स्टैग्नेट
  • Part of Speech
  • Meaning:
    a. to cease to run or flow, as water, air, etc.
    b. to be or become stale or foul from standing, as a pool of water.
    c. to stop developing, growing, progressing, or advancing:
    d. to be or become sluggish and dull

  • Antonyms: innovate, work, change
  • Usage in a sentence: My mind is stagnating from too much TV.
