1. International Day of Conscience: 05 April
- International Day of Conscience is observed every year on April 5 to commemorate the importance of the human conscience.
- The day was established by the United Nations General Assembly on July 25, 2019 with the adoption of UN resolution 73/329 that has the theme Promoting a Culture of Peace with Love and Conscience
- International Day of Conscience was first celebrated on April 5, 2020
- Aim: To promote peace and love throughout the world.

2. Government declares B R Ambedkar anniversary as public holiday from 2021
- Centre has announced public holiday on April 14 to mark the 130th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, under Section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881
- As per an official order of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Central government offices, Industrial Establishments throughout the country will also remain closed on the 14th April
- BR Ambedkar inspired Dalit Buddhist movement and was independent India's first Minister of Law and Justice

3. Maharashtra gets one more biodiversity heritage site
- Maharashtra has declared Amboli in Western ghats, Sindhudurg, as a biodiversity heritage site.
- This biodersity site has discovered a rare freshwater fish species Schistura Hiranyakeshi
- Earlier, Glory of Allapalli in Gadchiroli district, Landor Khori Park in Jalgaon, Ganesh Khind in Pune, myristica swamp vegetation in Sindhudurg district has been declared biodiversity heritage sites.
- Biodiversity Heritage Sites are notified areas of biodiversity importance in India.

- India will mark its 58th edition of National Maritime Day in 2021
- It was first celebrated in 1964
- Legacy of Indian shipping first started on April 5th, 1919, when first ship The SS Loyalty manufactured by The Scindia Steam Navigation Company Ltd. sailed from Mumbai to UK
- India became member of International Maritime Organisation (IMO) in 1959

5. Rajasthan becomes the 1st state to provide free health insurance to all
- Rajasthan has kicked off its cashless ‘mediclaim’ scheme worth Rs 5 lakh for each family of the state, starting the registration for its Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme
- With the start of the registration under the scheme, Rajasthan has become the first state in the country to provide health insurance to all its residents
- It was announced by CM Ashok Gehlot in state budget 2021-22
- Under this, each family will get an annual health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh

- Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has released a book titled ‘Suparipalana’.
- The book is the Telugu translation of Echo T Calling: Towards People-Centric Governance, written by former Telangana Chief Secretary, Shri S K Joshi.
- The book has been translated into Telugu by Annavarapu Brahmaiah and published by Maruthi.

7. TRIFED launches ‘Sankalp se Siddhi’ Village and Digital Connect Drive
- TRIFED under Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched 100 day ‘Sankalp se Siddhi’ Village and Digital Connect Drive covering 100 villages in each region and 1500 villages in country
- It will entail 150 teams region from TRIFED and State Implementation Agencies visiting ten villages
- Visiting teams will also identify potential Van Dhan Vikas Kendras for clustering as TRIFOOD, and Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) units as larger enterprises

8. PhonePe becomes first player to cross billion-transaction mark on UPI
- Digital payments and financial services company, PhonePe has become 1st company to cross one billion transactions on Unified Payments Interface (UPI) infrastructure.
- PhonePe achieved the feat in March 2021, when the total transactions clocked around 1.3 billion on its platform, across the payment instruments offering of wallet, cards as well as UPI.
- PhonePe also claimed that its annual payment value run rate hit $388 billion in March, 2021

9. SBI signs loan agreement with JBIC for International Cooperation
- SBI has signed $1 billion loan agreement with Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) to extend loans to supply chain of Japanese automobile industry in India.
- SBI has inked similar agreement for $1 billion in October 2020
- The loan is in the form of refinance against the funding support provided to the manufacturers, suppliers and dealers of Japanese automobiles in India.
- The financing will assist the Govt ‘Make in India’ initiative.

10. UP govt launches unique gift scheme to promote covid vaccination
- Uttar Pradesh govt has launched a unique gift scheme to promote Covid vaccination
- UP govt will conduct a lucky draw for those who have taken the vaccine on World Health Day on 7th April
- Districts with more than 25,000 beneficiaries with doses of vaccine, will be eligible for this gift scheme
- 4 gifts will be given to the beneficiaries after lucky draw.
- Where more than 25,000 or 50,000 beneficiaries have taken vaccines, number of gifts will be increased to 6 and 8
