1. Asia’s biggest Jungle Safari will come up in Chhattisgarh
- Asia’s biggest man-made 'Jungle Safari' will come up in a 200 acres of land in Chhattisgarh ‘Naya Raipur’ the high-tech city that will replace Raipur as state’s capital from 1st November.
- Chief Minister Raman Singh on Friday performed laid the foundation stone for the project to be implemented in Khandwa village of the Naya Raipur. The project that would come up with an estimated cost of Rs 230 crore is stipulated to be completed within two years.
2. Kerala has become the third Open Defecation Free (ODF) state in the country.
- Kerala has become the third Open Defecation Free (ODF) state in the country. Earlier, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim had declared themselves Open Defecation Free.
- Over 1 lakh villages across the country have become ODF.
- It has also become the first high density populated state in the country to achieve Open Defecation Free.
- Note: Gujarat, Haryana and Uttarakhand — will be announcing themselves as ODF soon.
3. Madhubabu Aain Sahayata Sibir Scheme launched by Odisha Government
- 'Madhubabu Aain Sahayata Sibir (MASS)' to support rural voters in the ensuing panchayat polls in February. Under the scheme, the state government would set up legal assistance cells in all 6,812 gram panchayats across the state to provide free legal consultations to deprived sections of the society.
- Aim: Revamping the socio-economic structure at the grassroot level by making citizens aware of their rights and by providing free legal advice at the door steps.
4. India ranks 133rd in 2016 Global Youth Development Index
- India ranked 133rd in the index among 183 nations. Some other neighbouring countries are Nepal (77), Bhutan (69) and Sri Lanka (31)
- As per the report India accounts nearly 20 per cent of the global youth population, with nearly 345 million young people between the ages of 15 and 30 living in the country.
- The top 10 countries are – Germany (1), Denmark (2), Australia (3), Switzerland (4), United Kingdom (5), Netherlands (6), Austria (7), Luxembourg (8), Portugal (9) and Japan (10).
5. IBE, UNESCO, IITE, NCERT & MHRD-GOI organizing an International Forum in New Delhi
- International Bureau of Education (IBE), UNESCO with Google and in collaboration with the UNESCO International Institute of Technology for Education (IITE) in Moscow, the National Council for Education Research and Training (NCERT) in New Delhi and the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India (MHRD-GOI) is organizing an International Forum on Adopting an ICT Perspective to Education and Learning. The forum is being held in New Delhi, India from 31th October- 4th November 2016.
6. 'Kejriwal App' To Tackle Pollution After Diwali - Delhi
- With the air quality reaching 'severe' levels in most parts of Delhi, due to the bursting of crackers coupled with stagnant wind movement, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday said an app Kejriwal App will be launched for people to share their grievances on pollution.
- It has been said that Public Works Department (PWD) would be roped in to tackle the rising menace of dust particles, which had exacerbated the situation.

7. Commencement of 10th Indo-Nepal joint military exercise Surya Kiran
- The Indo-Nepal Joint Military Exercise Surya Kiran-X commenced at Army Battle School, Saljhandi in Nepal.
- The Surya Kiran series of exercises are being conducted annually, alternatively in Nepal and India.
- Aim: To conduct battalion level joint training primarily to emphasis on Counter Terrorism in mountainous terrain. Disaster Management is also a part in the exercise.
