Sri Lankan PM’s visit
Prime Minister: Ranil Wickremesinghe
Date of visit: September 14 -16, 2015

Highlights
1. Total Agreements – 4 including
- (i) Coordination of Satellite for SAARC Region.
- (ii) Supply of Medical Equipment.
- (iii) Establishment of Emergency Ambulance services in Sri Lanka.
- (iv) Assistance for implementation of SDP ( Skill Development Project).
2. Some other major issues discussed include –Fisherman issue, Sri Lankan Tamil Community, Terrorism.
3. Co-operation in various other sectors like Trade, Economics and Technology were sought.
Germany Chancellor’s visit

Date of visits – 4-6 October, 2015
Currency – Euro
Capital – Berlin
Highlights
1. Indo – German summit 2015 held in Bengaluru.
2. 3rd Inter Governmental Consultation held in New Delhi
3. Joint statement on – climate change and Energy Technology Cooperation, Inter Governmental Consultation.
4. Total 18 Agreements were signed.
5. German investment of $ 2.25 billion in developing India’s clean energy corridors and Solar Energy Industry.
6. German chancellor returned 10th century Durga Idol to India.
3rd India Africa Forum Summit
Theme: Partners in Progress- Towards a Dynamic and Transformative Development Agenda
Date of visit: October 26-29, 2015
Participating Nations: 40 African Nations
Previous Summits: 2008 (New Delhi) and 2011 (Ethiopia)
Highlights
1. India announced $ 10 billion of credit at concessional rate over 5 years, in addition to about $ 7.4 billion that India has pledged since 2008.
2. Assistance of $ 600 million was granted, including an India-Africa Development Fund of 100 million and an India-Africa Health Fund of 10 million US dollars.
3. India will also provide 50000 scholarships to African students to avail higher education in our country.
Mauritian President’s Visit
President – Dr. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim
Date of visit – December 6-10, 2015
Currency – Mauritian Rupee
Capital – Port Louis
Highlights
Mauritian President met various Indian dignitaries which include – External Affairs MinisterMrs. Sushma Swaraj, President of India Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, Governor of Telangana Mr. ESL Narsimhan.
Japanese PM’s visit
Prime Minister – Shinzo Abe
Date of visit – December 11 -13, 2015
Currency – Yen
Capital – Tokyo
Highlights
1. Agreement on Civil Nuclear Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy.
2. Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on High Speed Railways between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
Details of High Speed Railway project between Mumbai and Ahmedabad:
i) The project is a 508 Kilometer railway line with a cost of 97636 crore rupees, Japan offered an assistance of over 79000 crore rupees.
ii) Loan period 50 years with a moratorium of 15 years, at an interest rate of 0.1 percent.
iii) The project will be implemented in a period of seven years using Shinkansen Technology.
3. Agreement on Amendment Protocol of Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA).
4. MoU between State Government of Kerala and Lake Nakaumi, Lake Shinji & Mt. Daisen area Mayors Association; between Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) and National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS); between State Government of Andhra Pradesh and Toyama Prefecture.
5. Other Agreements: cooperation on science and technology, young researcher’s exchange program, cooperation in the field of Medicine, education, energy sector, forests and forestry, Railway Research Design.
6. A Joint Statement on India and Japan Vision 2025: Special Strategic and Global Partnership Working Together for Peace and Prosperity of the Indo-Pacific Region and the World were issued.
