UIIC Assistant Salary , Job Profile & Career Growth

• An Assistant in United India Insurance Company Limited (UIIC) acts as the support staff and is supposed to assist the Administrative Officer (AO).
• There is very less decision making involved and is a totally nonauthoritative post.
• Since UIIC Assistant profile belongs to the insurance sector, most of the work includes tasks related to insurance policies, which may involve health, motor vehicles, industrial, accident, fire etc.
• However, the job role varies as per the requirement of the department or branch in particular.

• The Probation period for the UIIC Assistant is 6 months.
• This probation may be extended by another 6 months but this is rarely the case.
• The probation is more or less like a training phase for the Assistants & and various types of training are conducted during this period.
• As per the policy, Assistants can be posted and transferred to any place in India and they will have to stay at the initial place of posting for a minimum of 5 years

• The mantra is to get the certifications and get increments.
• There are so many certifications that are provided by Insurance Institute of India like Associate, Licentiate etc.
• Since you will be eligible for promotion only after 2 years of confirmed service as assistant, it is our advice to clear the fellowship and other certifications so by the time you are eligible for AO, you are already way ahead than your peers and it also helps in the interview.
• There are many Assistants who become AO as soon as they are eligible.

• The Assistants are recruited in the pay scale of 14435-840(1)-15275-915(2)-17105-1030(5)-22255-1195(2)-24645-1455(3}-2901 0-1510(2)-32030-1610(5)-40080.
• That is, a fresh recruit Assistant will have a basic pay of Rs. 14435/- and after one year, he/she will get an increment of Rs 840.
• Likewise, he/she will get 1 such increments and when the Basic Pay reaches Rs. 15275, he will be eligible to get an increment of Rs 915 for further 2 years till his salary reaches Rs. 17105 and so on.
• Assistants are eligible for many allowances. These include Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc., which are revised from time to time during settlements and are also eligible for reimbursements like Newspapers, Group Personal Accident Insurance and LTC etc .
• Assistants get loans and advances at a much cheaper rate for Housing, Vehicle, Computers etc. and Assistants are covered by the NPS scheme by NSDL and have the benefit of gratuity.
• Approximately, Assistants gross salary is Rs. 23000/- per month.
