Mobile Apps Launched by Government of India

1. PM SVANidhi app (Prime Minister Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi)

  • Launched by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra
  • The objective of the application is to provide a paper-less microcredit facility for street vendors
  • The application will help in enabling business correspondents of micro-lending institutions, banks, Non-Banking Financial Corporation to get maximum coverage.
  • The main features of the application include e-KYC (Know Your Customer) of application, real-time monitoring, vendor search in the survey and processing of applicants.

2. “Kisan Rath” Mobile App

  • Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has launched a mobile application “Kisan Rath”. 
  • This farmer-friendly app has been launched to facilitate transportation of foodgrains and perishables during the lockdown.

3. Elements app:

  • India’s first social media super application launched by vice president M Venkaiah Naidu launched.
  • The app was developed by Sumeru Software Solutions & provides free audio/video calls and private/ group chats through the vibrant feed.
  • Most Important feature of the app is that the user’s data will not be shared with the third party without the user’s explicit consent & the data will be stored in India.

4. PM KISAN mobile application

  • It was launched by Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar on the first anniversary of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi.
  • This was launched with an aim to doubling farmer’s income by

  • To help the students to locate their examination centre and see the distance between the current location and examination centre.

6. ‘Fuel Humsafar’:

  • The application was launched by the Ministry of Labour and Employment
  • This was launched with an aim To provide fuel delivery services to housing societies, hotels, hospitals, malls, construction sites, industries, banquets and other bulk buyers of diesel in various NCR cities.

7. DefExpo 2020:

  • The application was launched by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh
  • This is to provide detailed information about the day-to-day events, participating exhibitors, guest speakers of seminars, maps and directions of the venues.

8. mHariyali App:

  • Launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation.
  • With an objective to encourage Public engagement in planting trees
  • and other such Green drives.

9. Sahyatri App

  • Launched by Indian Railway
  • The Sahyatri app will help railway passengers find out the jurisdiction of a police station and the details of GRP officials by geo-tagging with Google Maps.

10. Krishi Kisan App

  • Launched by Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar.
  • It will provide farmers with the information of best demonstration of high-yielding crops and seeds in their nearby vicinity.

11.CHC Farm Machinery App 

  • Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar launched ‘CHC Farm Machinery’ mobile App in New Delhi.
  • The Multi-lingual Mobile App CHC Farm Machinery is for farmers to hire tractors and other farm machinery.

12. Consumer App

  • Consumer App is an initiative of the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India.
  • The consumer can give their suggestions and also lodge complaints pertaining to consumer issues through this app.
  • Through this app.consumers will get redressal within 60 days.

13. L2Pro India Mobile App

  • Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT)
  • The application is to ensure that innovation which is fundamental to startups are protected, managed and commercialized.

14. Uber for tractors Apps:

  • Launched by Agriculture Ministry
  • The app lets farmers hire tractors, rotavator and other farm-related machinery on rent for with flexible tenures.
  • The app would enable farmers to have affordable access to cutting-edge technology at their doorsteps.

15. Swachh Nagar app

  • Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry has launched the ‘Swachh Survekshan 2020’, themed ‘’Cleanliness is Our Right’’.
  • The ministry has also launched ‘Swachh Nagar App’ and Water plus (Water+) protocol on wastewater treatment that would become a part of cleanliness rankings of cities in the 2020 Swachh Survekshan.
  • People will be able to use the ‘Swachh Nagar App’ to place a request to have solid waste, construction and demolition waste and wet waste picked up by the local civic body after making a payment.

16. Rail Kumbh Seva app

  • Launched by North Central Railway (NCR)
  • This is to help the devotees arriving in Allahabad for the Kumbh Mela.

17. Khelo India App

  • The app was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
  • It is the Sports Authority of India's (SAI) first-of-its-kind mobile application to create awareness about sports and fitness in the country.

18. Nyaya Bandhu

  • Launched by Department of justice
  • The pro bono legal service was developed to let advocates register and connect with the registered eligible beneficiaries
  • The mobile application is integrated with a dashboard to confirm and register the pre-registered cases

19. PM-JAY App; Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY)

  • Launched by PM-JAY's CEO Indu Bhushan
  • This is to access the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) details or check the eligibility by entering the name, village and ID details.

20. Shiksha Vani App

  • Launched by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
  • This app will disseminate crucial information to students and parents in a timely manner.

21. Voter Turnout App

  • Launched by Election Commission of India
  • The app would increase the transparency of voter turnout information among the public while ensuring easy availability of the same for the media.

22. UMANG App

  • Launched by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and National e-Governance Division.
  • This is a single platform which provides services to all Indian citizens from Central to Local Government bodies as well as Private Organizations.

23. Veer Parivar App

  • Launched by President Ram Nath Kovind
  • ‘Veer Parivar App’ is a mobile application for families of CRPF personnel killed in the line of duty.
  • The Veer Parivar App will act as an interface between the CRPF authorities and the next of kin of the slain personnel.

24. eCollabDDS

  • Launched by the Government of India
  • The application is to provide a real-time collaborative environment to visualize medical and dental images (digitized X-Ray images or DICOM data) for Patient diagnosis and treatment planning from remote locations.

25. E-Dharti App

  • Launched by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, GoI.
  • The app will help the public in getting the necessary information on the fingertips and the government to effectively manage its properties.
  • Under e-Dharti app, all the three modules- Conversion, Substitution and Mutation related to properties have been made online.

26. Observer App

  • Launched by Election Commission of India
  • The application is to help poll observers to submit reports

27. cVIGIL

  • Launched by Election Commission of India
  • The application will enable citizens to report on violation of election code of conduct.

28. e-Pathshala

  • Launched by the Ministry of Education (Then Ministry of Human Resource Development) and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT)
  • It provides access to digital textbooks for all classes, graded learning materials and enables participation in exhibitions, contests, festivals, workshops, etc.

29. Air Sewa 2.0

  • The app was launched by the Ministry of Civil Aviation
  • This will offer passengers convenient and hassle-free air travel experience\


  • This application was launched by the Ministry of Railways
  • The app will offer information and data related to e-tendering and e-auction activities of Indian Railways.

 Mobile Apps Launched by Various State governments

1. SelfScan app:

  • The ‘SelfScan’ app was West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee.
  • This New Application was developed by the state’s information technology department, to scan documents.
  • The ‘Self Scan’ app came days after the Centre banned 59 Chinese mobile applications.

2. “Himmat Plus App:

  • The application was launched by “Delhi Police” in association with Uber.
  • The app has launched the app at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI)

3. e-Ganna App:

  • Launched by Uttar Pradesh government (CM Yogi Adityanath)
  • A dedicated app (e-Ganna App) for sugarcane farmers of the state.
  • e-Ganna App will help in eradicating cane mafia and middleman and strengthen cane development societies.

4. E-Gyan Mitra

  • The mobile app has been launched by the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
  • The “E-Gyan Mitra” mobile app has been launched to provide online education.

5. MeraVetan App

  • The application was launched by the then Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Girish Chandra Murmu.
  • The newly launched application is aimed to provide Salary Related information to Employees.

6. Digicop App

  • The application was launched by Chennai police
  • The app is to help report thefts of mobile phones and two-wheelers and check if they have been recovered.

7. One Delhi App

  • Launched by Delhi Government
  • To make travel easier in Delhi, the app allows users to access all bus stops, bus and metro routes, fares, expected time of arrival (ETA) of buses and metro," the government said in a statement.

8. ‘Shiksha Setu’

  • Launched by the Government of Haryana
  • This will help in bringing transparency in the Education Department and in the administration of colleges in the state.

 Mobile Apps Launched by Various Banks

1. e-Kisaan Dhan App:

  • e-Kisaan Dhan App was launched by HDFC Bank for farmers all over India.
  • Through their mobile phones, the farmers will be able to access the services, both banking and agriculture.
  • ‘e-Kisaan Dhan’ will provide value-added services like mandi prices, latest farming news, weather forecast, information on seed varieties, SMS advisory, e-pashuhaat, Kisan TV, and more.

2. Yuva Pay app:

  • Yes Bank launched its digital wallet solution ‘Yuva Pay’ to enable contactless payments for its customers.
  • This was launched in partnership with UDMA Technologies.
  • Through the app, customers can pay their utility bills (including municipal, house, water tax, electricity, LPG, DTH, Mobile bill, license fees), make insurance renewals, FASTag recharges, EMI payments, and use the app to make payments at retail outlets.

3. 'MANI' (Mobile Aided Note Identifier):

  • The application was launched by Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
  • It will help in identifying the denomination of currency notes for the visually challenged persons.
  • MANI stands for Mobile Aided Note Identifier.

 Mobile Apps Launched by other organizations

1. Kormo Jobs App

  • The application was launched by Google in India.
  • It would help millions of Indians to get entry-level jobs. Kormo Jobs will help to provide entry-level jobs to thousands of people, to help those who have lost their jobs during the coronavirus and young professionals who are looking for jobs.

2. ‘Pravasi Rojgar’ app

  • The app was launched by Bollywood actor, Sonu Sood
  • The initiative will be supported by community outreach in the villages to find the right employment opportunities for migrant workers in different parts of the country.

3. “Flyzy app”

  • Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)- Guwahati has developed an application called “Flyzy” for consistent and contactless air travel during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The point of the versatile application Flyzy, created according to International Air Transport Association (IATA) rules, is to give contactless loading up, remembering the simpler stuff drop, reasonable stopping, better shopping experience and giving important updates during the entire excursion.

4. Audible Suno:

  • Amazon has launched a new app that, like the portable smart speaker has been launched exclusively for the Indian audience.
  • This is to expand Audible’s reach in India’s highly competitive digital entertainment and streaming space.

5. BOLO App

  • The app has been launched by Google India
  • The app will make it easier for kids to improve their Hindi and English reading skills.
