‘Sare Jahan Se Acha Hindustan Hamara’ is a patriotic song in the Urdu language in the ghazal style. It was first published in the weekly journal Ittehad on 16 August 1904. It is an anthem for the people of India. Mohammad Iqbal recited this song at Government College, Lahore (now in Pakistan) when he was invited by a student Lala Har Dayal to preside over a function.
Mohammad Iqbal was a Kashmiri Muslim who was born in Sialkot, Punjab, on 9 November 1877. He was a writer, philosopher, and politician.
