MP SET Age Limit

MP SET Educational Qualification

The authority has established a minimum educational qualification for candidates interested in the exam, similar to the age limit. To be considered for the position, a candidate must meet the qualification requirements for the position of Assistant Professor.   • An eligible candidate should have a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject with 55% marks. For SC/ST/OBC the minimum marks shall be 50% to appear in the examination.
  • Candidates must have a Master's degree from a UGC-recognized university/institution to be eligible to take the MP SET exam.
  • Candidates who are awaiting their postgraduate results or who are currently enrolled are also eligible to take the exam. Such candidates, however, are only permitted temporarily. If they pass a master's degree or equivalent exam with a 55% or higher, they will be considered a qualified candidate. Otherwise, they will be deemed ineligible.
  • Candidates awarded Ph.D. degrees before 19 September 1991 will also be eligible to apply for the Madhya Pradesh State Eligibility Test. 
  • Candidates are only allowed to appear in the same subject as their Postgraduation. Candidates whose subjects are not included in the SET subject list may appear in the corresponding subjects.

MP SET Nationality

MP SET Eligibility Relaxations

MP SET Eligibility shall remain the minimum required condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/Colleges/Institutions of Higher education (Government/Aided/Private) in Madhya Pradesh State. Some MP SET Exemption Criteria 2023 are listed below:

  • A relaxation of 5% in the minimum marks required, will be provided to SC/ST/OBC/Transgender candidates. 
  • Degree holders with a Ph.D. who completed the master's examination prior to September 19, 1991 (regardless of the announcement date of the result) must be eligible for a 5% relaxation.
  • NET/SET/SLET will continue to be the minimum qualifications for the recruitment and appointment of assistant professors at universities/colleges/institutions. In this regard, the NET/SET/SLET exemption will be subject to UGC regulations and amendments notified from time to time by the Indian Gazette.
