MP SET Eligibility 2022 Overview 

Candidates who wish to apply for MPSET Exam 2022 must go through the detailed MP SET Eligibility 2022 to avoid disqualification at a later stage. Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission will release the notification for MPSET 2022 exam which shall include all the details about eligibility. MPSET is a State Level  Eligibility Test which offers an assistant professorship at various universities/institutions in Madhya Pradesh.

The MP State Eligibility Test 2022 runs in online mode (CBT). To apply for the MPSET exam, it is important that the candidate meets the MPSET 2022 Eligibility Criteria. So here are the detailed MPSET Eligibility Conditions and the details of MPSET's Educational eligibility and Age Limit.

There is no maximum age limit for applying for MPSET. 

MPSET Educational Qualification 2022

  • An eligible candidate should have a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject with 55% marks. For SC/ST/OBC the minimum marks shall be 50% to appear in the examination.
  • The degree compulsorily has to be from a UGC-recognized university/institution to be eligible to take this exam. 
  • Candidates awaiting their postgraduation results or appearing candidates are also eligible for taking the MPSET 2022 Exam. However, such candidates are only temporarily allowed. If they pass a master's degree or equivalent exam and achieve 55% or higher to be a qualified candidate. Otherwise, they will be considered disqualified.
  • Candidates awarded PhD degrees before 19 September 1991 will also be eligible to apply for MP SET 2022. 
  • All the candidates are allowed to appear in the same subject as their Postgraduation. Candidates whose subjects are not included in the SET subject list may appear in the corresponding subjects.

MP SET Eligibility Exemptions 2022

  • A relaxation of 5% in the minimum marks required, will be provided to SC/ST/OBC/Transgender candidates. 
  • Degree holders with a PhD who completed the master's examination prior to September 19, 1991 (regardless of the announcement date of the result) must be eligible for a 5% relaxation.
  • NET/SET/SLET will continue to be the minimum qualifications for the recruitment and appointment of assistant professors at universities/colleges/institutions. In this regard, the NET/SET/SLET exemption will be subject to UGC regulations and amendments notified from time to time by the Indian Gazette.
