The State Public Service Commission conducts a joint pre-examination called 'MPSC Subordinate Services (Combined)' for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Section Officer (ASO), State Tax Inspector (STI), and Police Sub Inspector (PSI). Generally, rural police stations and small police stations are handed over to police sub-inspectors (PSI). There he is known as the SHO (Station House Officer). The medium-level and heavy police stations are managed by officers of the Police Inspector (PI). After promotion, he becomes Assistant Police Inspector (API).

Maharashtra Sales Tax Inspector Job Profile

State tax inspectors deal with sales tax-related cases. It has the responsibility to contact the defaulters, inform them about the payment of taxes, and send notices if required. To execute attachment or warrant, State Tax Inspector (STI) may need to visit shops or factories, or godowns. He is also responsible for issuing an ad for a property auction and monitoring the auction. STI can become a Sales Tax Officer by promotion.

Maharashtra Subordinate Services ASO Job Profile

Assistant Section Officers (ASOs) can be appointed in various departments of Mantralaya, Mumbai. Some places are also in the MPSC office. That means his assistant's work can change according to the office. After a few promotions, he may become a Section Officer.
