Kerala PSC has released the official notification (Extra Ordinary Gazette Date – 02/08/2021) for selecting candidates for the post of High School Teacher (English) – ഹൈസ്കൂൾ ടീച്ചർ  (ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ) for appointments to Kerala Government Education Department. PSC will appoint the selected candidates as High School teachers in various Government High Schools across Kerala.

Selection Process for Kerala PSC – High School Teacher (English) 

The selection process shall be for the post of  Kerala PSC – High School Teacher (English) conducted in the Online/OMR method. The OMR/Online Test is conducted as part of this selection; candidates shall submit a confirmation for writing the examination through their One Time Registration profile. Such candidates alone can generate and download the Admission Tickets in the last 15 days till the date of the Test. 

The Test will have 100 questions which include 80 questions from the core subject and 20 questions from Kerala renaissance and Freedom Movement, Current Affairs, and Teaching Methodology.

• Applicants have to register as per the ONE TIME REGISTRATION process with the official Website of Kerala PSC.  before applying for the post.
•  Applicants who have already registered can apply by logging on to their profile using their User-ID and Password on the official website.
• Then applicants have to click on the ‘Apply Now button of the respective posts in the Notification Link to apply for a post.
•  The Photograph uploaded should be taken after 31.12.2011. The name of the candidate and the date of the photograph taken should be printed legibly at the bottom portion.
• The applicants have to keep the printout of the application form with them.

Applicants born between 02 – 01 – 1981 and 01-01-2003 (Both Dates included) are eligible for applying for the post. Usual age relaxation is there for the reservation category according to the Government rules

Kerala PSC  High School Teacher (English)   – Educational Qualification 

The applicants, those who are applying for the post of  Kerala PSC – High School Teacher (English) should have the following educational qualification

1. A Bachelor’s Degree or Postgraduate Degree in English Language and Literature
2. B.Ed/B.T/L.T with English as an optional subject conferred or recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala
3. The candidates should clear the Kerala Teacher Eligibility (K- TET) category III for the post conducted by the Government of Kerala

Exemptions To the above General Rules

• Applicants who have qualified CTET/NET/SET/M.Phil/Ph.D in the respective subjects and M.Ed in any Subjects are exempted from having K- TET
• Applicants who have acquired BA. Ed Integrated Course (Social Studies, English) awarded by the Regional Institute of Education are eligible for the post
• No age limit for the Departmental High School Laboratory Attenders having a minimum of 5 years of satisfactory service. He must have the prescribed qualification required for an HSA.
• No upper age limit for Teachers of the Government Primary and Nursery Schools who are graduates and are otherwise qualified. The upper age limit after allowing the relaxation as per rule should not exceed 50 years of age.
• First Class Scouts and Guides have a preference in the matter of appointment as Teachers.
• Wives of Jawans have the preference in the matter of recruitment as Teachers if they possess the prescribed qualifications.
• Applicants who are claiming equivalency have to submit the relevant Government orders during the verification to prove their eligibility
