CGPSC Exam Pattern and Selection Process 2022

The CGPSC Exam is being held by the Chattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC). It is critical for applicants to understand the CGPSC Selection Process before sitting the exam. There are three stages to the selection process:

  • Stage 1: Preliminary Examination
  • Stage 2: Main Examination
  • Stage 3: Personal Interview

CGPSC Preliminary Exam Pattern 2022

The CGPSC Preliminary examination has two papers each comprising multiple choice questions. The duration of the examination is 2 hours for each of the papers.

  • The paper will be a form of objective paper.
  • The paper is in offline mode.
  • Each paper has a total time limit of 2 hours.
  • Each paper carries a total of 200 points.
  • Each paper has 100 questions with one mark for each correct answer and a 1/3 negative mark for each incorrect answer.

The CGPSC prelim exam covers a wide range of subjects and subtopics, including topics and subtopics such as Indian history, Indian national movement, Indian polity, human rights, science and technology, Indian economy, Ancient history, modern history, Chhattisgarh geography, Chhattisgarh economics, and so on. As a result, candidates should be well prepared for the CGPSC prelim test of the Chhattisgarh PSC, as it covers a wide range of topics.

Minimum Qualifying Marks: In each Question paper essential qualifying marks are as follows:

  • For the unreserved category - 33% 
  • for reserved categories and handicapped candidates - 23%

CGPSC Personal Interview 2022

Students who pass the CGPSC Mains Exam will be invited to the Stage 3 Interview/Personality Test. For a total of 150 points, the interview will be held. The purpose of this round of interviews is to assess the candidates' mental intelligence, judgmental balance, critical thinking, leadership, and moral integrity.

The overall marks acquired in the Mains Exam and the Interview will determine the final merit list of recommended candidates.
