How WBCS Cut Off Marks are Calculated?
The cutoffs for the West Bengal Civil Services are calculated on factors such as difficulty level, the overall performance of the candidates, vacancies, or more.
For example, if there are 500 WBCS vacancies then 5000 might be eligible for mains. On an average, if the 5000 candidates get a score of 120 or above then the cutoff marks will be at 120
There are three stages at which cut off is calculated i.e. prelims stage, mains stage, and final cut off. At the mains stage, prelims marks are not considered. The final cut off is based on combined marks of mains and personality tests.
The maximum marks in the WBCS prelims exam are 200 because there is only one General Studies paper with 200 marks. For this paper cut off marks are calculated.
