MPSC APO Salary Structure 2022

UPPCS judges are appointed at level 9 of the service category. The grade pay is Rs 56,100. The gross salary includes the basic, dearness allowance (DA) and a host of other allowance that amounts to Rs 70,000 per month. You can expect an NPS deduction on this which will take down the in-hand salary to Rs 65,000. According to the UP-government laws, the DA for UP PCS Judiciary salary is calculated at 17% of basic.

While this may not seem like a huge figure, the beauty of this profession is the fact that you can easily increase the monetary compensation. When you pass the LLM, the grade pay increase to Rs. 61,300,and the gross becomes Rs 76,000. Thus, by cracking the LLM final examination, you increase the take-home pay to Rs 70,000.

MPSC APO Perks & Allowances

Other than the lucrative UP PCS J salary, the job of a civil judge in UP comes with a host of their facilities. They get free accommodation, utility bills, vehicle facilities, and maintenance allowance for their vehicle. 

Travel allowance for self and dependents is another major perk of this judicial post. Please note that not all of these are granted during the training stage. However, on successful completion of the training, your service is confirmed, and you get all these facilities.

MPSC APO Promotion and Job Stability

The career tractor of a civil judge is one of the immense opportunities. The initial posting happens as an Additional Civil Judge in the Junior Division or as a Judicial Magistrate. While the two posts are identical in the judicial hierarchy, civil judges will be restricted to civil cases. Any criminal case will be dealt with by judicial magistrates.

Professionals who begin their career as Judicial Magistrates will be promoted to Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM). Civil Judges in the Junior Division will be promoted as Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division).  In both cases, the next promotion is as the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM). 

The top-performing CJMs get promoted to Additional District and Session Judge. The final promotion is to the position of the District and Session Judge. Understand that with each promotion there is a significant boost to the salary and other perks that are associated with the job. Civil judges in UP retire at the age of 60. However, some of the top-performing District and Session Judgers find their way to the High Court where the retirement age is 62 years.

  • Typically, civil judges are transferred every three months. In exceptional cases, this may be extended. While you can expect a good number of transfers in your tenure, these will be restricted to urban areas of the state.

  • Irrespective of whether you are an LLB or an LLM, the cumulative allowance remains unaltered at Rs. 5000.

  • Civil judges are reimbursed several utility bills such as phone bills, electricity bills, and water bills.
