The GATE 2024 will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. GATE is the abbreviation of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is conducted yearly by either of the seven IITs in India on a rotational basis. GATE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

GATE 2024 Syllabus

GATE 2024 syllabus and information brochure will be made available by IISc Bangalore. Candidates will be able to download the syllabus pdf online via the official website and the link provided here. Last year, a minor change was made to the GATE exam syllabus. The subjective syllabus varies from paper to paper, whereas the General Aptitude (GA) syllabus is the same for all 29 papers.

GATE Exam Pattern 2024

The GATE exam pattern describes the basic structure of the question paper. It elucidates details on the number of questions, marks, duration, etc. The question paper shall comprise Multiple-choice (MCQ), Multiple Select (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. There is a negative marking for multiple-choice questions, but for questions with numerical answers, there is no negative marking. GATE Exam Marking Scheme

The mark distribution in papers AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH, XH, and XL differs from the other papers such as General Aptitude is 15 marks, and Subjective questions are 85 marks which makes the total 100 marks.

  • For incorrect answers, 1/3 of the marks will be deducted, i.e. (0.33) for one-mark questions
  • 2/3 of the marks will be deducted, i.e. (0.66) for incorrect answers to two-mark questions.
  • For incorrect answers to NAT questions, no marks will be deducted.

GATE 2024 Admit Card

The link to download the GATE admit card will be available a few days before the exam date. Candidates who register for the GATE exam 2024 can access their admit cards from the official website. Candidates must double-check the information on their admit card, and if there is any discrepancy, they must immediately contact the helpline services. GATE 2024 Answer Key

The authorities will make the answer key available a few days after the GATE 2024 exam. Candidates' response sheets will be released before the release of the answer key. Students can calculate their probable exam score using the response sheet and GATE answer key before the results are announced. GATE 2024 Counselling

COAP will conduct admissions counseling for M.Tech. courses offered by IITs, and CCMT will conduct admissions counseling for M.Tech. programs offered by NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and CFTIs. Eligible candidates must attend the GATE 2024 counseling as scheduled.   • GATE 2024 will be conducted by IISc Bangalore for admission of candidates to ME/MTech and PhD programmes. The scorecard of GATE is also considered for the recruitments in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

  • The GATE exam full form is the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering examination. It is jointly conducted by IITs and IIsc Bangalore to shortlist candidates for Post-Graduate courses, Fellowship programmes, and PSU recruitments.

  • The notification for the GATE exam will be released in the last week of July 2023. It shall incorporate various details such as important dates, application process, eligibility criteria, syllabus, exam pattern, etc.

  • The scorecard of the GATE exam is valid for 3 years for admission to IITs and NITs. For PSU recruitment, the GATE scorecard is valid for a maximum of two years, depending on the PSU. Generally, only one year of GATE score is considered valid for PSU recruitment. So, GATE 2024 will be valid till 2027 for admission to IITs and NITs and till 2025 for PSUs.

  • Candidates can recover their login credentials by using the forgotten registration number and password reset links. Login credentials are used for downloading admit card, result, and for other purposes.
