GATE CSE Counseling 2023: COAP & CCMT Counseling for NITs AND IITs.

GATE CSE Counseling 2023 will begin after the declaration of the GATE CSE Scorecard. Candidates with a valid GATE CSE Scorecard of the last three years, i.e., 2022, 2021, and 2020 will be able to apply for GATE CSE Counseling 2023. Further, the private universities conduct their admission procedure for admission through GATE for M. Tech courses. The GATE Computer Science Counselling is done through two methods for taking admissions into M.Tech programs in IITs. NITs, GFTI, and other institutions. 

1. GATE couselling through COAP: Through the GATE COAP counseling, candidates can apply for the M. Tech course in the participating IITs and IISC Bangalore. 
2. GATE counseling through CCMT: Through GATE CCMT Counseling, candidates can apply for M. Tech courses offered by the NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.

As already discussed, the GATE CSE Counseling is done through Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) and Centralized Counselling for M. Tech, M. Arch, M. Planning (CCMT). Let us now explain to you the admission process through COAP and CCMT.

GATE CSE Counseling Through COAP

Candidates with a valid GATE Score can take admitted for M.Tech courses in the participating IITs and IISC Bangalore. All the participating IITs upload the admission offer for the M.Tech course as per the GATE Score. The selection of candidates depends upon the availability of seats.

GATE CCMT Counselling is done for all the NITs and GFTIs in the country for M. Tech, M. Arch, and M. Planning courses for the candidates who hold GATE Scorecards. Different dates are announced for the CCMT Counselling on the CCMT portal.

The GATE CSE Counseling 2023 involves the following stages for filling up the GATE COAP and CCMT forms. Candidates registered on COAP and CCMT portals must also register separately on the Institutes' websites. In addition, institutes will ask for the COAP and CCMT enrollment numbers to be filled separately in the forms.

Various rounds of counseling are conducted if seats are left vacant in Institutes whose decision is taken by the Institute that is in charge of conducting GATE counseling for that particular year. • Accept and Freeze: Accepting and Freezing means that you have accepted the allotted seat and do not want up-gradation.
• Retain and Wait: Selection of this option means that you have accepted the given seat but want up-gradation. 
• Reject and Wait: This means that a candidate does not want to accept any of the offers available.
