As per the official updates, XAT Exam Eligibility is the basic requirement for admission to XLRI and other XAMI Members Colleges across the country. However, XAT Eligibility may vary according to nationality, age, qualifications, and the programmes chosen by the candidates. So, before applying for this exam, candidates must be well versed with the XAT Eligibility to participate in further admission procedures. 

  • The candidates must complete 3 years of Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from any recognized university in India. 
  • Final year students are also eligible, but they need to complete their graduation studies by June 2023. 
  • Additionally, with a valid GMAT Score, NRI Candidates and Foreign Nationals can also apply for this exam. 
  • As per the official updates of XAT Eligibility, there is no relaxation for reserved category candidates.

As per the official updates of XAT Eligibility and educational qualification for XLRI, the candidates need to complete their graduation studies to appear for the XAT Exam.   • 3 years of Graduation Studies in any discipline from a recognized University is the basic requirement. However, there are no minimum mark conditions.
  • Final Year graduation students can also apply for this exam, but it is compulsory for them to complete their studies within June 2023. They need to submit their degree certificate and mark sheet to the exam authority before the admission year finishes.
  • Apart from this, there are no limits on the number of attempts as per the XAT Eligibility.

XAT Eligibility - Nationality

Both the Indians and Foreign National candidates are eligible to apply for the XAT Exam. NRI candidates can also appear for this exam. XAT Exam Age Limit

There is no age bar for this exam as per XAT Eligibility official updates. The candidates can apply for the XAT Exam irrespective of their ages. As per the latest official notification:

  • There is no upper age limit for the XAT Exam.
  • Both Fresh graduates and working professionals can apply for this exam.
  • The candidates only need to complete their 3 years of graduation studies.

Human Resource Management (PGDM HRM)

3 years Bachelor’s Degree in any stream.

NRI and Foreign Nationals can apply through a valid GMAT Score.

Business Management (PGDM BM)

Candidates need to complete 3 years of Graduation Studies.

Work Experience is not mandatory for this course.

NRI and Foreign national candidates can apply through a valid GMAT Score.

General Management (PGDM GM)

3 years Bachelor’s Degree.

5 years of full-time experience at managerial and supervisory levels.

The organization must be a respectable Government, Public and Private organization.

Business Management (Part-Time)

Bachelor’s Degree of 3 years.

Bachelor’s degree should be completed from AICTE-approved Institutes in India.

XAT Eligibility Criteria 2023 for NIR/PIO and Foreign Nationals

As per the official updates of XAT Authorities, the candidates belonging to the below categories are also eligible for XAT 2023. They have to choose either XAT or GMAT, to clear XAT Eligibility for the final selection process of XLRI.

  • NRI: The candidate is considered as an NRI if he or she has not been an Indian resident for the past 9-10 preceding years. Additionally, if they have not been in India for more than 730 days, they can apply for XAT as an NRI Candidate.
  • PIO (Persons of Indian Origin): It means the candidates have foreign citizenship (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) without "NRI" status but who hold a Foreign Passport at the time of sending the application. In consideration for admission and during the study period, they or anyone/ both of their parents or anyone / both of their grandparents is (or was) / are (or were) citizen (s) of India under the provisions of the Constitution of India.
  • FN (Foreign National): The candidates who have citizenship of a foreign country (citizens of all countries other than India) and do not have the status of NRI and PIO can apply for the upcoming exam, as per the official notification XAT Exam Eligibility.

XAT Selection Criteria 

As per XLRI Final Selection Criteria, the candidates will be shortlisted based on their XAT 2023 and GD-PI-WAT Round performance. Additionally, academic qualification, work experience, and extracurricular activities will also be considered for preparing the final merit list. The candidates, who will meet all the criteria will be shortlisted for the admission process in XLRI and Other XAMI Members Institutes.

The candidates can also apply for the GMAT exam instead of the XAT. XLRI also accepts GMAT scores for MBA/PGDM Admission. As per the official updates of XLRI Final Selection Criteria, if you apply for GMAT, then you can directly apply for the final admission process.

XAT Eligibility for XLRI Courses through GMAT

Note the below points to know the basic details for XAT Eligibility Criteria 2023 through GMAT.

  • All Foreign and NRI candidates aiming at XLRI offered courses will have to apply through their GMAT scores only. The validity of the GMAT Score will be counted from December 01, 2017, and December 31, 2022.
  • However, candidates need to complete XAT Registration 2023 although GMAT scores.
  • The Indian Candidates with GMAT can only apply for General Management programmes in XLRI.

XAT Exam Eligibility - Reservation Policy

As per official updates of XAT Eligibility, XLRI does not provide any relaxation for reserved category candidates. However, participation colleges may follow the specific reservation, which you must check before applying for the course.

Additionally, no concession is given in XAT Application Fees for the candidates belonging to reserve categories like SC, ST, OBC, and PWD. The XAT Eligibility Criteria 2023 and fee is same for all the aspiring Indian candidates, and it is 1800.

Who is Not Eligible for XAT 2023?

The XAT Eligibility defines the minimum requirements for applying for the exam. Based on the XAT Exam Eligibility listed by XLRI, the following candidates are not eligible for the XAT 2023.

  • Graduates with a two-year bachelor's degree from the 1980s.
  • Candidates that do not pay their registration costs in a timely manner.
  • Candidates whose final examination year will not be completed by June 10, 2023
  • Candidates that received their education in an unrecognized institution.
