XAT Analysis 2023

XAT Exam Analysis provides an elaborate and structured review of the exam. The candidates who will appear for XAT Exam 2023 can estimate the cut-off and get a section-wise review of the paper. The paper has 2 parts: Part 1 and Part 2. The total time duration is 190 minutes (165 minutes and 25 minutes for Part 1 and Part 2, respectively). 

  • In part 1, the questions are asked from VALR (Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning), DM (Decision Making), and QADI (Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation). 
  • Part 2 comprises of 2 sections, including GK and Essay Writing.

XAT Exam Analysis Highlights 

Note the below section to get basic highlights of the XAT Exam 2023.

  • The total time duration is 190 minutes.
  • There is a negative marking for the incorrect answer as well as unanswered questions. 
  • The XAT Marking Scheme includes a negative marking of 0.25 mark for every wrong answer.
  • 0.10 marks will be deducted for more than eight un-attempted questions.
  • No negative mark in the General Knowledge section.
  • The XAT Exam 2022 reintroduced Essay Writing Test. 
  • The XAT Question Paper also consists of Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

XAT Previous Year Exam Analysis

  • XAT 2022 Analysis - The exam was moderately difficult, as QADI questions were little conceptual and lengthy
  • XAT Analysis 2021 - The overall difficulty level was moderate. The Decision-Making section was the easiest but QADI questions were difficult and tricky. 
  • XAT Exam Analysis 2020 - Most of the QADI questions were asked from geometry. The overall difficulty level was moderate.
  • XAT Analysis 2019 - XAT Exam 2019 was difficult because of the VARC section, as most of the questions were very conceptual.

XAT 2022 Review 

The exam was conducted on 02 January 2022. As per expert analysis and candidates’ feedback, the XAT Exam 2022 was moderate to highly difficult. The questions that were asked from VALR and DM were not so tricky to be answered. But, the QADI section was the toughest as most of the questions were lengthy. The GK section in Part 2 was also difficult. The questions were asked about science & tech, geography, polity, and current affairs. In the essay section, the candidates got two options to select one essay of 250 words. The essay topics were as follows:

  • Capitalism and democracy follow a different logic
  • Candidates with stellar academic records are preferred by B-schools for admission, but they make average managers

XAT Exam Analysis 2020

The Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning section were a little difficult in XAT Exam 2020. Most of the questions were asked from Reading Comprehension.

  • The Decision-Making section was moderate, and the questions were asked based on the situational concept. Understand the XAT Registration process in detail.
  • The QADI section was difficult and prominently covered Geometry and Algebra sections. Most of the DI questions were asked from tables and graphs.
  • The questions in the GK section were asked about current affairs mostly. However, static GK Questions were also there.

XAT Analysis FAQs

  • As per the expert opinion, XAT Exam Analysis is the process of analyzing the questions’ difficulty level. It assists the candidates in understanding the question types along with the difficulty level. So that they can make a study plan to complete all the topics asked in the exam.

  • XAT Exam is one of the toughest MBA Entrance Exams in India. The difficulty level of this exam is generally moderate to high as per the candidates’ preparation level. XAT Exam 2022 was moderately difficult, especially for two exam sections: QADI and GK.

  • As per the official updates of the XAT Marking Scheme, there is no negative marking in GK Section. The candidates will get +1 for every correct answer. If you give the wrong answer, then -0.25 marks will be deducted. Additionally, if the candidates left 8 or more than that questions unattempted, 0.10 marks will be deducted.

  • There are 2 parts as per XAT 2022 Exam Analysis: Part 1 and Part 2. In Part 1, the questions are asked from 3 most important sections like Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation. In part 2, there are 2 sections, including GK and Essay Writing.
