In short, XAT Analysis 2023 gives a short review of the exam, which is very important to prepare for the exam. As per the previous year's XAT Exam Analysis, the difficulty level of the exam was moderately difficult, and most of the questions were tricky but doable. XAT Analysis 2023

Analysis of XAT provides an elaborate and structured review of the exam. The candidates who appeared for XAT 2023 can estimate the cut-off and get a section-wise review of the paper. As per the XAT Analysis 2023, the paper has 3 parts: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3. The total time duration is 210 minutes, which is divided into 175 minutes, 5 minutes, and 30 minutes for Part 1, 2, and 3 respectively).

  • In part 1, a total of 76 questions are asked from VALR (Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning), DM (Decision Making), and QADI (Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation).
  • Part 2: Mock Keyboard Testing round of 5 minutes
  • Part 3: It comprises 2 sections, including GK and Essay Writing. There are 25 questions in GK, 3 questions essay, out of which 1 question is to be answered.

XAT 2023 Analysis Highlights

Note the below section to get basic highlights of the XAT Exam 2023.

  • The total time duration is 210 minutes.
  • As per the XAT Analysis 2023, the marking scheme includes a negative marking in which 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • 0.10 marks will be deducted for more than eight un-attempted questions.
  • No negative mark in the General Knowledge section.
  • The XAT Question Paper also consists of Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

  • XAT 2022 Analysis - The exam was moderately difficult, as QADI questions were a little conceptual and lengthy
  • XAT 2021 Analysis - The overall difficulty level was moderate. The Decision-Making section was the easiest, but QADI questions were difficult and tricky.
  • XAT Analysis 2020 - Most of the QADI questions were asked from geometry. The overall difficulty level was moderate.
  • Analysis of XAT 2019 - XAT Exam 2019 was difficult because of the VARC section, as most of the questions were very conceptual.

XAT Analysis 2023: Sectional Weightage

There are 3 parts in XAT Exam. As per XAT 2023 Analysis, the first part consists of 76 questions. The second part of the XAT consists of 25 Gk questions and 1 essay writing question (300 words - It will be evaluated if you are shortlisted for the final selection round).

There are 3 parts in XAT 2023. In Part 1, the questions are asked from 3 sections: VALR, DM, and QA&DI. While in Part 3: questions are asked from the below 2 sections:

  • General Knowledge
  • Essay (This part will only evaluate the candidate's clear cut-off and is shortlisted for an interview)

XAT Analysis 2023 on Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation

This section of XAT Exam 2023 evaluates candidates' skills in mathematical reasoning, including the chapters like Geometry, Arithmetic, Algebra, Number Systems, DI, and more. A total of 28 questions are asked in this section. We will update the XAT Analysis for this section after the exam is ended. The level of difficulty was Easier than last year. There were 2 DI sets. DI Set had a lot of data with 6-7 graphs in a single diagram, Scatter diagram & 5 axis with 5 attributes​.

XAT 2022 Analysis

The exam was conducted on 02 January 2022. As per XAT Analysis 2022 and candidates' feedback, the exam was moderate to tough. The questions that were asked from VALR and DM were not so tricky to be answered. But, the QADI section was the toughest as most of the questions were lengthy. XAT Analysis 2023 revealed that the GK section in Part 2 was also difficult. The questions were asked about science & tech, geography, polity, and current affairs. In the essay section, the candidates got two options to select one essay of 250 words. The essay topics were as follows:

  • Capitalism and democracy follow a different logic.
  • Candidates with stellar academic records are preferred by B-schools for admission, but they make average managers.

XAT 2021 Analysis for Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation

This section was more difficult and time-consuming than the other three sections. A total of 28 questions were asked, mostly from Geometry and Algebra. Note the below points to get an idea of the number of questions

A total of 26 questions were asked in this section, which was a moderately high difficulty level. The questions were tricky and time-consuming.

This section was easier than the other exam sections. A total of 23 questions were asked, which were further divided into 7 sets with 3 questions in each. The topics asked were as follows:

  • Most of the questions in this section were generic in nature and had static GK questions

XAT Analysis 2020

The Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning sections were a little difficult in XAT Exam 2020. Most of the questions were asked from Reading Comprehension.

  • As per XAT Analysis 2020, the Decision-Making section was moderate, and the questions were asked based on the situational concept. Understand the XAT Registration process in detail.
  • The QADI section was difficult and prominently covered Geometry and Algebra sections. Most of the DI questions were asked from tables and graphs.
  • The questions in the GK section were asked about current affairs mostly. However, static GK Questions were also there.

FAQs on XAT Analysis

  • As per the expert opinion, XAT Analysis is the process of analyzing the questions’ difficulty level. It assists the candidates in understanding the question types along with the difficulty level. So that they can make a study plan to complete all the topics asked in the exam.

  • XAT Exam is one of the toughest MBA Entrance Exams in India. The XAT 2023 difficulty level is moderate. As per XAT Analysis 2022 the exam was moderately difficult, especially for two exam sections: QADI and GK.

  • As per the official updates of marking scheme of XAT 2023, there is no negative marking in GK Section. The candidates will get +1 for every correct answer. If you give the wrong answer, then -0.25 marks will be deducted. Additionally, if the candidates left 8 or more than that questions unattempted, 0.10 marks will be deducted.

  • There are 2 parts as per XAT 2023 Analysis: Part 1 and Part 2. In Part 1, the questions are asked from 3 most important sections like Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation. In part 2, there are 2 sections, including GK and Essay Writing.

  • Yes, it is very important to clear the sectional cut-off in each section of the XAT Exam. It is required to get a good XAT Result in terms of good score and percentile. Note that, during admission, XLRI considers sectional scores also to shortlist the candidates for final admission.

  • The difficulty level of GK Section as per XAT Analysis 2023 is moderate. The questions are asked mostly from static GK. If you are well-prepared, then 10 minutes are enough to ace this section with correct responses.

  • XAT is considered as one of the toughest MBA Exams. The difficulty level of the XAT Question Paper is usually moderate to high. So, the candidates must be well-versed with all the topics covered in this exam to ace a good score.

  • As per the exam trends, out of 100 questions, about 70-75 attempts with 70 to 80 percent accuracy are considered as good attempts in the XAT. We have updated XAT Analysis 2023 and good attempts after the exam.
