Candidates who are Indian citizens can apply for Symbiosis National Aptitude Test SNAP 2023. However, candidates belonging to foreign countries are also eligible for this exam if they qualify for the basic SNAP Eligibility.

SNAP Number of Attempts

SNAP Exam Eligibility For Indian Students

  • The candidates must hold 3 years of Bachelor's Degree from any recognized university or Institution of National Importance. They must have acquired at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in the case of the candidates who belong to SC or ST)
  • As per the official SNAP Eligibility, Candidates who are in the final year of their graduation can also opt for this test but their admission will be dependent on the attainment of a minimum of 50% marks in their final year (45% marks or equivalent grade for the SC or ST).
  • Admission of final year’s candidates will be provisional and will be cancelled if the above-stated criteria would not be satisfied
  • Even if the candidate has been admitted provisionally, it does not mean that his/her acceptance is granted. The final decision will be taken by Symbiosis International (Deemed) University (SIU).
  • There is no SNAP Age Limit for Indian Students.

SNAP Eligibility 2023 for Foreign Students

The Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE) department of the University provides support for the University's efforts to internationalize the campus and its curriculum. The admissions are centralized for all the Institutes that fall under Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and are routed through SCIE. The International Students are categorized as follows, as per the SNAP Eligibility:

  • Foreign National (FN) - A student is eligible to apply as a Foreign National (FN) if he/she is a citizen of any country other than India and holds a foreign passport.
  • Overseas Citizen of India - A student is eligible to apply as OCI if he/she is granted Overseas Citizenship of India and has an OCI card.
  • Person of India Origin - A student is eligible to apply as a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) if he/she has a PIO card and is a citizen of a country other than India.
  • A non-Resident of India - A student is eligible to apply as a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) if he/she is an Indian National and has appeared for the 12th examination (equivalent to the Indian 12th) or graduated outside India. It is mandatory for one of the two qualifying examinations to be given outside India.

Candidates from foreign universities, overseas citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and NRI are eligible to apply for SNAP 2023. Note the below section for SNAP Eligibility for International Applicants

  • Candidates applying under overseas criteria need to clear an English Proficiency Test.
  • The candidates who will appear for IELA or IELTS need to secure band 4 and band 6, respectively.
  • The candidates who have completed their graduation from any foreign university must have obtained an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian University (AIU)
  • All the foreign degrees/ qualifications must have consented to the AIU by candidates before looking for admission to any programme of SIU. Stay updated with the SNAP Admit Card release date.
  • It is the responsibility of the candidate to fulfil the requisite qualifications/degrees needed for admission.
  • They need to submit residence proof, passport, copy of a visa (student visa), bonafide certificate, and provisional letter of admission from the university/institute and college.

SNAP Exam Eligibility: Reservation Policy

SIU announces the SNAP 2023 reservation policy after releasing the official notification of the upcoming exam. However, the candidates can keep in mind the below points to get an idea about the SNAP Eligibility reservation policy for admission in any of the institutes of SIU except Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies.

  • A candidate applying under any of the reserved categories (Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes/Kashmiri Migrants/Differently Abled) is obligatorily required to submit a relevant document issued by a competent authority. All the documents needed during the SNAP Admission Process by the candidate will be verified and should be authentic. Know the process to download SNAP Results.
  • If a candidate falls under more than one category, he/she has to select any one category at the time of filling up the SNAP Application Form. He/she will get all the benefits or entitlements according to that selected category. He/she will not be able to claim benefits under any other category at any stage of the SNAP Admission Process.
  • Candidates applying under the reserved category should carefully note the SNAP Eligibility norms before applying for this exam.
  • A minimum level of performance by the candidates is required in a SNAP Exam.
  • If any candidate's credentials related to a reservation are found to be incorrect, then the University is authorized to cancel the candidature of such a candidate at any stage of the admission process. Check the list of SNAP Exam Centres.
  • If caste certificates are issued only for respective state government benefits, then it will not be accepted as per the SNAP Eligibility. If issued in the vernacular, it will need to be supported by the English translation issued by the authority.
  • If a candidate comes under the Differently Abled Category, he/she will be provisionally admitted to it. Thereafter, he/she has to get an 'Authentication Certificate' from the Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC) within one of commencement of the programme. SCHC will check the validity and verify all the documents provided by the candidate.
  • Officers of Armed Forces on Study Leave as authorized by respective Services HQs are granted automatic admission which is subjected to meet SNAP Eligibility criteria.
