CHAPTER-1: STATIC, DYNAMIC & FATIGUE LOADING

Static Load: Static load is defined as a force, which is gradually applied in a mechanical component and which does not change its magnitude or direction with respect to time.

Fatigue Loading – Fatigue load is defined as the load whose magnitude or direction or both changes with respect to time and the same load is applied repeatedly.

Fatigue – Fatigue is the phenomenon of failure under fatigue stress conditions.

Factor of Safety: The factor of safety is defined as the ratio of Failure stress to the permissible stress or Allowable stress.
