For Inlet Pipe Design

 Assume flow for 8 hrs.

For Outlet Pipe Design

 Dia of outlet = 1.5 dia of the inlet pipe

 

Septic Tank

  • Detention time = 12 to 36 hr.
  • Sludge accumulation rate = 30 lit/cap/year.
  • Sewage flow = 90 to 150 lit/capita/day.
  • Cleaning period = 6 to 12 months
  • Length to width ratio = 2 to 3 m.
  • Depth = 1.2 to 1.8 m
  • Width ≮ 0.9 m.
  • Free board = 0.3 m.
