The Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant selection process for the year 2022 has been disclosed officially by ICG. Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Selection Process 2022: ICG is recruiting for the post of Assistant Commandant branches which includes Asst. Commandant General Duty for (Male, SSA/ Women), Asst. Commandant Commercial Pilot License (CPL-SSA) both Male and Female, Asst. Commandant (Engineering & Electrical-Male), Asst. Commandant (Law Officer) both Male and Female.

ICG Assistant Commandant Selection Process - Stage 1

Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant applicants will be invited to a preliminary screening test, the date and time of which will be listed on the E-admit card. The details of the preliminary selection test are listed below:

  • This examination will include 3-4 subjects in sections 1, 2, and 3.
  • The test will be objective in nature and will only be offered in English.

ICG Assistant Commandant Selection Process - Stage 2

Applicants who will qualify the preliminary examination will be considered eligible for the final selection stage. The Final Selection Board (FSB) consists of the following tests:

  • The examination consists of two parts: the Computerised Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) and the Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PPDT) (PP&DT).
  • The Stage II examination is only for qualifying purpose.

ICG Assistant Commandant Selection Process - Stage 3

Applicants will then be recommended for FSB by the authority which will last for 5 days. After this, the authorities will compile a merit list for those applicants who pass their medical exam, and this list will be based on their written exam scores as well as the number of vacancies available.

The merit list will be posted on the Indian Coast Guard's official website, and those who make the cut will receive a joining letter. The Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala will provide training for the aforementioned positions.

ICG Assistant Commandant Selection Process - Stage 4

The 4th stage is document verification. Certain documents must be brought to the exam centre by the candidates. After the verification is completed, the original documents will be returned to the candidates. The following is a list of documents that must be submitted as part of the ICG AC selection  process:

  • 2 copies of pre-filled online forms generated by a computer E-Admit Card with a current passport-size color photo (not older than 03 months)
  • Original Xth grade graduation certificate and mark sheet
  • Original certificate and mark sheet from class XII
  • Original Degree Certificate with all semester/year mark sheets of BE/ B.Tech/ Graduation with CPA/ CGPA ID proof - Passport, Driving License, Aadhar Card, Voter ID card, College ID card, or any other photo identity proof ID proof - Passport, Driving License, Aadhar Card, Voter ID card, College ID card, or any other photo identity proof
  • (SC/ ST Candidates) Original caste certificate
  • Character certificate (must be no more than six months old on the date requested) for PSB (Preliminary Selection Board))
  • 12 recent color passport size photographs

ICG Assistant Commandant Selection Process - Stage 5

The candidates who qualify the ICG AC examination will have to undergo a medical test which includes:

Height

157 cms

Weight

Proportionate to the height and age of the candidate

Chest

Should be well proportionate and have an expansion of 5 cms

Eye-sight

6/6, 6/9 – (uncorrected without glass)

6/6, 6/6 (corrected with glass)

Tattoo

Not permitted except for the case of candidates from tribal areas.

  • No. There is no negative marking in the Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant examination.

  • The selection of the candidates for a particular batch is valid for that particular batch only.  Qualified candidates whose names do not appear in the final merit list will have no rights for automatic selection for the next batch. If those candidates want to join the service, they have to appear for the exam again next year following the whole procedure.
