Cities in Maharashtra

  • Maharashtra is a vast state in western India. With an area of 38,864 sq km and a population of 33 million, Maharashtra is one of the largest states in India. Diversity is seen in all parts of the cities of Maharashtra, and a group of cultures together form the cities of Maharashtra.
  • Aurangabad is the pride of Central Maharashtra. In this historic city is the tomb of Bibi Ka Maqbara, also known as the crown of South India. This city is known as the city of caves. The world-famous Caves of Ajanta and Ellora Caves are located in Aurangabad. Nashik is a holy place of pilgrimage for Maharashtrians and Hindus all over India in the northern part of the state. The city hosts the Kumbh Mela every three years.
  • To the south, Kolhapur, on the border of Karnataka, is a happy city for shopkeepers. The city is famous for Saaj, Chappal, Sari, Har and Mala, Mohanmal, Bormal, Chaplahar, Kolhapuri Saaj, Pohehar, and Putlihar. Then comes the city of oranges - the splendor of Vidarbha, Nagpur. Nagpur is an important trading city in Maharashtra.
