MPSC Free Exam Preparation
The recruitment process is organized every year by Maharashtra Public Service Commission for various posts in the Government of Maharashtra. Millions of students prepare for the exams conducted by the MPSC Commission, but very few of them pass the exam. The secret to passing the MPSC is the best study material and proper guidance. MPSC Syllabus
The MPSC examination has three stages, namely, Prelims, Mains, and Interview. The Prelims exam is conducted for 400 marks, mains for 800 marks, and interview for 100 marks.
MPSC Prelims Exam Pattern
MPSC Prelims examination is the first step of the recruitment process for the MPSC Exam. The MPSC exam pattern for Prelims has two papers, Paper 1 & Paper 2, named General Studies and Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT), respectively. CSAT paper has qualified in nature. Only GS paper 1 marks are taken into account for main exams.
Negative Marking System: 25% or 1/4

MPSC Prelims Syllabus
The MPSC Commission has recently published the revised MPSC Syllabus. The detailed syllabus is given below:
Paper 1 (GS Paper 1)
- History of India (with special reference to Maharashtra) and Indian National Movement.
- India, Maharashtra and world geography – Physical, Social, The economic geography of Maharashtra, India, and the World.
- General issues on Environmental Biodiversity, Ecology, and Climate Change.
- Polity and Governance (Maharashtra and India) – Constitution, Urban Governance, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issue, etc.
- Current events of state, national, and international importance.
- General Science
- Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Inclusion, Poverty, Social Sector Initiatives, Demographics, etc.
CSAT Paper 2
- Comprehension
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability
- Decision-making and problem-solving
- General mental ability
- Interpersonal skills including communication skills
- Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data Interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc. – Class X level)
- Marathi and English language comprehension skills (Class X/XII level) Questions relating to this will be tested through passages from Marathi and the English language without providing cross translation thereof in the question paper.
MPSC Mains Exam Pattern
The main exam is conducted for 800 marks, and the paper pattern is objective. There are 6 papers in the mains exam, out of which 2 are on languages (Marathi & English), and the other are based on GS.

MPSC Mains Syllabus
One essential thing to note about the MPSC Syllabus is that there is No Optional Paper in this mains exam. Additionally, Except for Paper 1, which is Descriptive, all other papers are Objective (MCQ format).
