CMAT Exam Pattern is prescribed every year by NTA along with the declaration of exam notification. Last year, NTA has revised CMAT Exam Pattern by adding Innovation and Entrepreneurship as a compulsory subject. So, the candidates appearing in the upcoming exam can expect the same CMAT Paper Pattern 2023.

The official CMAT Exam Pattern includes 5 sections: Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. The total exam duration is 180 minutes, and a total of 100 questions will be asked (total marks are 400). As per CMAT Exam Pattern 2023, the candidates will be awarded +4 for every question and will get a deduction of -1 for every incorrect answer. The language of the question paper will be English. CMAT Exam Pattern 2023

A thorough understanding of CMAT Exam Pattern 2023 is important to clear the exam on the first attempt. As per the official CMAT Marking Scheme, the candidates will get +4 for every correct answer. However, -1 will be deducted for every wrong answer in CMAT Question Paper. There will be in a total of 100 questions divided equally into five sections. The candidates must complete all the questions within 180 minutes of CMAT Time Duration.

CMAT Exam Pattern Latest Changes

NTA has revised twice CMAT Paper Pattern in the last 2 years. In 2021, Innovation and Entrepreneurship section was added as an optional paper in CMAT Exam Pattern with an additional 30 minutes allotted to this section. But in 2022, this section is added as a compulsory section. Following that, NTA also reduced the number of questions in each section from 25 to 20. There will be 100 questions in all, divided into 5 sections (each question will carry 4 marks).

  • CMAT is a computer-based exam, so you must not carry any bag or electronic devices in the hall.
  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship is the compulsory section from the last year's CMAT Exam. So be prepared for this section also while doing CMAT Preparation.
  • Candidates can switch between the exam sections at their convenience. But try to finish a section before moving forward to avoid later-stage confusion.
  • You can attempt questions in any order, as there are no restrictions of going forth or back as per the CMAT Exam Pattern.
  • There is no sectional time limit scheme in CMAT. You only need to solve all the questions in 180 minutes

  • As per the official update of NTA, the CMAT Exam Pattern has been revised this year. It includes 5 sections: Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. There will be 20 questions in each section, with a total of 100 questions. The total time duration is 3 hours, within which you have to solve the entire paper.

  • There will be no optional paper in CMAT 2023 Exam Pattern. Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which was introduced as an optional paper last year, had been announced as a compulsory paper. So the candidates aiming at the upcoming exam have to be prepared for the below 5 sections:

    • Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
  • As per the latest official update, there are no changes in CMAT Negative Marking. For every incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted for every section, including the newly added compulsory section: Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

  • As per the latest update of CMAT Exam Pattern, there will be a total of 100 questions total with 20 sectional questions. The number of questions in the section has been reduced as Innovational and Entrepreneurship is included as the compulsory section this year.

  • CMAT Exam Pattern 2023 is expected to be similar to the previous year in terms of the number of sections. This year, there will be no optional section as all of the sections, Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship, are compulsory.

  • There will be five sections as per the revised CMAT Exam Pattern, and as per the new exam pattern, there will be a total of 20 questions in the logical reasoning section. The difficulty level of the questions from this section will be easy to moderate.
