As per the previous year's update, CMAT Exam 2021 has 5 sections with one optional section (Innovation and Entrepreneurship) with 25 questions each. CMAT Exam Analysis 2021: Shift 1 

The overall CMAT Difficulty Level of the shift 1 Exam was moderately difficult. The aspirants need to score at least 300-320 to get the 99+ percentile. Below is the detailed analysis for each of the sections of CMAT Exam 2021 (Shift 1).

Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation

This section was slightly tougher. Out of 25 questions in total, in which there were:

  • 8 questions from Arithmetic
  • 5 questions from Algebra and Number System
  • 3 questions from Probability and PnC
  • 2 questions from Data Interpretation

Logical Reasoning

The CMAT Difficulty Level for this section was comparatively low than the other sections of CMAT 2021 Exam (Shift 1). There were

  • Series and Coding-Decoding: 4 questions
  • Miscellaneous Topics: 5 questions
  • 2 questions each from Blood Relation, Syllogism, Rank & Order, Set Theory

  • Error-Spotting and Active-Passive: 2 questions
  • Vocabulary: 4 questions

General Awareness

This section was the higher difficulty level, and most of the questions were asked from static GK

CMAT Exam Analysis 2021: Shift 2 

As per the expert analysis, the overall difficulty level for CMAT Exam 2021 Shift 2 was moderate. Below is the detailed analysis for each of the sections of CMAT Exam 2021 (Shift 2).

Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation

This section was moderately difficult. A total of 25 questions were asked, in which 

  • 11 questions were from Arithmetic
  • 4 questions from Pie Charts
  • 2 Qs each from Quadratic Equations + Series and Modern Mathematics (PnC and Probability)
  • 3 Qs from Algebra and Functions
  • 1 Qs each from Number System, Geometry, and Mensuration

Logical Reasoning

This section was with a lower difficulty level among all the sections of the CMAT 2021 Exam (Shift 2). The questions were asked here from,

  • 4 Qs from Coding-Decoding
  • 1 Qs each from Directions, Rank, Order, and Visual Reasoning

Language Comprehension

This section was of Moderate Difficulty Level with 25 questions in total. However, the questions were asked in this section were

  • Fill in the Blanks: 11 questions
  • Reading Comprehension: 5 questions
    • 2 Qs from RC-1 (Human Emotions)
    • 3 Qs from RC-2 (Chemical Composition of Human Body)
  • Sentence Correction: 5 questions
  • Idioms: 2 questions
  • Active-Passive and Central Idea: 1 question

General Awareness

As per expert analysis, this section was moderately difficult among the other sections. Out of 25 questions in total, in which 

  • Current Affairs: 8 questions
