KARTET Exam Pattern 2022: Paper 1 and 2 Pattern, Marking Scheme

Karnataka TET exam pattern is a must check when preparing for the exam. Candidates can check the pattern on the official website of the School Education Board of Karnataka. The exam is conducted in two papers. Paper 1 is for teachers interested in teaching primary classes (1st to 5th) and paper 2 is for teachers interested in teaching upper primary classes (6th to 8th). • There will be a total of 150 questions asked in the paper.
• The questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) types.
• The exam will be conducted for a total of 150 marks.
• The paper will be set both in Bilingual.

The KARTET Paper 2 exam pattern includes sections and important topics for the paper 2. Candidates who wish to teach classes from 6th to 8th must apply for Paper 2. • The examination consists of objective-type questions where the candidates will be given 4 options for each question. Out of the 4 options, the candidates will have to choose the correct answer and mark it on the OMR sheet provided.
• For each correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded and there will be no negative marking on the paper. For an unattempted question also, there will be 0 marks granted.

• Paper 1 includes Child Development and Pedagogy that focuses on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years.
• The Test items in Language I in paper 1 focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction. Language II focuses on the elements of language, communication, and comprehension abilities.
• Mathematics and Environmental Studies focuses on the concepts of problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects.

• Paper 2 includes Child Development and Pedagogy which focuses on the educational psychology of teaching and learning for the age group of 11-14 years. This focuses on understanding the characteristics, needs, and interaction with learners, the psychology of diverse learners, and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
• The Language I focuses on the proficiencies of the medium of instruction. Language II focuses on elements of language, communication, and comprehension abilities.
• Mathematics and Science and Social Studies/Social Science are also included in paper 2. This subject focuses on the concepts of problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects.
