The Department of School of Education of the Karnataka Government has conducted Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2021. It is a state-level examination for recruiting Lower Primary Teachers (classes 1-5) and Upper Primary Teachers (classes 6-8) in various Government schools across Karnataka. The KARTET Application Form 2021 will be declared very soon. You have to carefully go through the KARTET Apply Online 2021 process before filling the KARTET Application Form 2021. The candidates are advised to check every detail carefully before the final submission of the form. The below steps will tell you how to fill the KARTET Application Form 2021 successfully. Note that incorrect applications shall not be considered and admit cards against such application will not be issued. Also, the Application Fees once paid is non-refundable.

  • Visit the official website and click on the "KARTET Application Form 2021" button or link
  • Fill up all the requisite details in the form like name, address, contact details, date of birth, category, the language of examination, and preferred examination centre, choice of language, educational qualification information, professional information and personal information.
  • Pay the prescribed KARTET Application fees through one of the available payment modes such as net banking, debit card, credit card etc.
  • Now, upload the scanned copies of your personal, professional and academic documents.
  • Upload your signature and passport size photograph as per the prescribed format and size.

KARTET Application Fees

The application fees for Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2021 is different for different categories of applicants. They have been specified below for your reference. Any changes in the KARTET Application Fees shall be communicated by the exam conducting authority through an official notification on the official website. 

For General candidates- Rs. 1000/-

For SC/ST/PWD- Rs. 400/-

For OBC- Rs. 500/-

Documents Required for KARTET Application Process 2021

The documents required for KARTET Application Process are as follows.

  • Proof of Educational qualification
  • Declaration of unemployment/NOC from the present employer
  • Birth Certificate
  • Aadhar card
  • Caste Certificate, if any
  • Income Certificate
  • Community (Minority or not)
  • Medical Certificate (in case of blind or physically handicapped in any other way)
  • Certificate of hearing disability, if applicable

KARTET Eligibility Criteria 2021

All aspirants are mandatorily required to check their eligibility before applying for the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KATET) 2021. If any candidate fails to meet one or more below given KATET Eligibility Criteria 2021, then that candidate's candidature shall be disqualified or cancelled. 

Age Limit:

All candidates must be at least 18 years old. There is also an upper age limit for the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KATET) 2021 that varies between 35 and 40 years. For the reserved category, there can be some relaxations with respect to age. 

Minimum Education Qualification:

For Primary Teachers (Classes I to V)

  • The candidate must have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam with at least 50 % marks. (45% in case of reserved category students.
  • The applicant must pass the Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.Ed) with at least 45% or 50% marks, as the case may be.
  • Candidates are also eligible if they are currently pursuing their final year of D.Ed./B.Ed/B.El.Ed

For Upper Primary Teachers (Classes VI to VIII)

  • The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in the relevant stream with a minimum of 45 to 50% marks as applicable
  • The applicant should pass or be appearing in the final year of D.Ed/B.Ed/B.El.Ed

KARTET Exam Pattern 2021

Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2021 comprises two papers, namely Paper I and Paper-II. The time duration for each paper is 150 minutes. The candidate will have to answer only multiple-choice questions. In total, there will be 150 questions in each paper. No student will get negative marking for wrong answers or unattempted questions. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer.

The KARTET Admit Card 2021 has been announced 10-15 days prior to the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KATET) 2021. All aspirants must understand that the Admit card is the most important document to give any exam. The candidate must download the same from the official website within the notified duration.
