Territorial Army (TA) Eligibility Criteria 2021
Below are the details from where one will get section-wise Territorial Army (TA) Eligibility criteria which are mentioned in the official notification.
1. Territorial Army (TA) Age Limit
- The prescribed age limit for the Territorial Army (TA) eligibility criteria is from 18-42 years.
- Below or more than the prescribed age limit aspirants are not allowed to appear for the examination.
- No additional relaxation is declared for different categories.
2. Territorial Army (TA) Educational Qualification
- Aspirants appearing for the Territorial Army (TA) Officer post must be Graduate from any recognized university.
- A certificate from any course or field is acceptable.
- No other special educational background is needed.
3. Territorial Army (TA) Nationality Criteria
- Only Indians/Indian nationality aspirants can appear in the examination.
- No aspirants from neighbouring nations will be entertained.
- Territorial Army (TA) Physical Requirements
- An aspirant must be physically & medically fit.
- For the fitness qualification, aspirants must serve physical & medical certificates to the particular authorities for further procedure.
4. Territorial Army (TA) Experience Required
- Prior work experience is required
- No other civilian can apply.
5. What is the Overall Number of Attempts Permitted for the Territorial Army (TA) Recruitment?
There is no specific limit on the total number of attempts for the Territorial Army. But candidates are required to satisfy all the other eligibility criteria in order to meet the selection process such as Age, Education, & Nationality.
6. Following documents need to carry while appearing for the Territorial Army (TA) recruitment
- Original & Xerox copy of every document mentioned below.
- Application Form IAF (for TA)-9 (Revised) Part-II from its Official Website.
- All the educational qualification certificates from Class tenth onwards.
- Recent physical fitness certificate from the MBBS doctor.
- Identity proof with the photograph affixed thereon. (Voter ID/ Andhra Card/ PAN Card/Passport/Driving license etc.)
- Domicile or Residential proof.
- Age proof certificate (includes Matric or Senior Secondary mark sheet and certificate for the verification of date of birth).
- Service certificate to be served by aspirants employed in Central Government/ State/ Union Territory/ Semi-Government/ Private Sector authenticated by the head of the office along with the governmental documentation.
- Self-employed aspirants are required to submit their attested document asserting the nature of employment & yearly income certificates.
- Ex-Servicemen whose names differ in documents should submit a copy of the Indian Gazette notification along with a copy of the release order.
- A copy of release medical board proceedings.
- The latest income proof from the appropriate authority (includes Income Tax Revenue Department or Magistrate or Employer).
- A copy of PAN Card.
- A copy of the Andhra Card.
- A copy of Certificates or Reports of all the Courses.
- Discharge or Service Particular Booklet.
- A copy of the recent ITR (Income Tax Return) filed.
Territorial Army Recruitment: Selection Process
The Territorial Army selection process comprises the following stages
- A written exam: All registered candidates are called to appear for the written exam
- Preliminary Interview: Candidates qualifying for the exam are called by the Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) by the respective Territorial Army Group Headquarters
- SSB Interview & Medical Exam: Successful candidates will further undergo tests at a Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection.
