CLAT 2021-2022: Exam Overview

The CLAT 2021 shall be a 2-hour test, with 150 multiple choice questions carrying one mark each for the correct answers. There shall be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. CLAT 2021-2022 is designed to be a test of aptitude and skills that are required for a legal education rather than prior knowledge, though the Current Affair section may need prior knowledge.

In this Section of CLAT 2021, you will be provided passages of about 450 words each. The passages will be derived from contemporary or historically significant fiction or non-fiction writings.   • Draw inference and conclusion based on the passages.
  • Summarize the passage.
  • Understand the meaning of words and phrases used in the passages.

CLAT Preparation 2022: Current Affairs including General Knowledge

The questions in this section may include an examination of legal information or knowledge discussed in or related to the passage, but would not require any additional knowledge of the law beyond the passage.

  • It is more of a factual section. Either you know the answer or you don’t. There is no grey area for it.

  • The candidate must be aware of the recent activities going across the world.

  • The candidate must read daily newspapers, editorials, and relevant articles.

  • Keep yourself updated is the only key to success here.

CLAT Preparation 2022: Logical Reasoning

This section requires you to recognize an argument, its premises, and conclusions. You have read and identified the arguments set out in the passages.

  • Draw relationships and analogies, identify contradictions and equivalence and assess the effectiveness of arguments.

  • The aspirant must be well aware of the basics of logical reasoning. He must be able to draw the interference.

  • It requires clarity in concepts.

  • In order to keep a check on the speed and accuracy, the candidate must take the mock tests and quiz.

  • The candidates can refer to some books like “Objective Logical Reasoning” by S Chand and “A Modern Approach to Logical Reasoning” by R S Agarwal.

CLAT Preparation 2022: Quantitative Techniques

It will include short sets of facts or prepositions, graphs, or other textual, pictorial or diagrammatic representations of numerical information, followed by a series of questions.
