CLAT 2023 Application Form is now open on the official website of Consortium. Candidates thinking of appearing in the CLAT Exam 2023 must complete the registration on or before 13 November 2022. The exam authority has released all the schedules for CLAT Exam Date 2023 on 8 August 2022. Authority will release the admit card for CLAT 2023 after the registration is over.

Consortium of NLUs

The CLAT was administered by NLUs on a rotating basis until 2018. However, starting in 2019, a permanent body made up of institutions known as the Consortium of NLUs is conducting CLAT Exam. The Consortium (also known as the CLAT Consortium) is headquartered at NLSIU Bangalore and consists of the following members:

  • An Executive Committee
  • The CLAT Convenor of the last year
  • The CLAT Convenor of the following year 
  • Two co-opted Vice-Chancellors of NLU

The Convenor of CLAT 2023 is Professor (Dr) Sudhir Krishnaswamy, Vice-Chancellor of NLSIU Bangalore. Professor Dr. Poonam Saxena (Vice-Chancellor) has been elected as the president of the CLAT Consortium. 

What is CLAT?

The CLAT Entrance Exam is a nationwide Law Entrance Exam for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes at 22 NLUs and other private schools and universities that accept CLAT Scores. Additionally, the result of CLAT Exam is also used for recruitment by some public organizations, such as ONGC and BHEL. 

CLAT is the most opted law entrance exam by the candidates who wish to take admission to Law Courses in the top NLUs in India. Approx, more than 50,000 applicants take the CLAT Entrance Exam. As per the official updates, The CLAT Exam 2023 for UG admissions comprises 150 questions from five subjects, including English Language and Current Affairs, including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. CLAT Exam Eligibility 2023

Before filling out the application form, candidates need to ensure whether they fulfill the CLAT Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria. It basically includes details about the age limit and educational qualifications.

CLAT Age Limit

As per the eligibility criteria of the CLAT 2023, there are no age-limit criteria for candidates applying for the exam for PG or UG. If the candidates fulfill the basic educational requirements then they can take part in the CLAT Exam.

CLAT Educational Qualification

The details about the CLAT 2023 Educational qualification are mentioned below. The candidate must have completed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized university or board. Candidates who have passed Class 12th are eligible to take the Common Law Admission Test CLAT. However, such candidates will only be considered for admission if they meet all of the other eligibility conditions mentioned below.

  • The candidate should qualify for the class 12th or equivalent exam from a recognized board or university.
  • For General/OBC/Specially-abled person (SAP), the percentage criteria are 45%.
  • For SC/ST, the percentage criteria are 40%.

Selection Process of CLAT Exam 2023

The CLAT Selection Process 2023 will be held in the following stages:

CLAT Exam Pattern 2023

CLAT 2023 consists of a total of 5 sections. It will be conducted offiline in pen-paper mode. Every question contains one mark each, and there is a negative marking of -0.25 marks for every incorrect answer in CLAT 2023. As per the latest updates, the Final CLAT Answer Key 2023 will be released by NLU Consortium on the official website of Consortium. First of all, the exam authority will declare the provisional CLAT Answer Key, which is open for the challenge. After considering all the grievances, the Final CLAT 2023 Answer Key will be released on the official website of the Consortium. Note the steps below to download the answer key for CLAT Exam 2023 from the official website.

  • Visit the official website of the NLU Consortium
  • Check the “Notification” Section.
  • Find the “CLAT 2023 Answer Key and Objection” tab.
  • Choose your programme (UG or PG), and click on it.

CLAT Result 2023

The Consortium of NLUs will release the CLAT Result along with the final answer key and merit list pdf on the official website. Candidates cancheck the CLAT 2023 Result by going to consortiumofnlus. ac. in. The authority releases the CLAT Result in the form of scorecards, which will include information such as sectional and total marks and rank. The consortium of NLUs will announce the merit list for both UG and PG law programmes along with the CLAT 2023 Result.

CLAT Counselling

The CLAT 2023 Counselling list will be uploaded after the declaration of the result on the official website of CLAT. The complete schedule and process of counselling are declared by the Consortium of NLUs.

  • Candidates should take note of the change in scheduling and register for CLAT Counselling appropriately. In addition, instead of three times as previously announced, the Counseling invitation will be extended to about five times the amount of seats in each category.
  • Only those candidates whose names / admit card numbers appear on the CLAT Counselling 2023 List are eligible to register for counselling. Candidates will receive an invitation to register for counselling by SMS and email. Candidates who do not complete the registration for CLAT 2023 Counselling will not be considered for allotment.
