The first sortie in the MiG-21 Bison fighter, which is regarded as a tough platform to handle, lasted roughly 30 minutes.
In 2016, Flying Officers Chaturvedi, Bhavana Kanth, and Mohana Singh became the IAF's first female cadets to be accepted into the fighter program.
The Air Force's fighter stream has hitherto been a "men only" realm. MiG-21 squadrons have been assigned to Flying Officers Chaturvedi and Kanth.
