SEBI has initiated a "Saarthi" mobile app that provides investors with knowledge about the securities market. The SaaRthi App aims to raise investor awareness of basic concepts such as securities market, KYC process, transactions and settlements, investment trusts, recent market trends, and investor complaint mechanisms.

The mobile app is another SEBI initiative to educate investors about the securities market, SEBI Chairman Shri Ajay Tyagi said at the time of the app's launch. With more private investors entering the market these days and, more importantly, the majority of transactions are mobile-based, this app helps with easy access to relevant information, Shri Ajay Tyagi Tyagi added. He also added that in the future the app will be popular with investors, especially young investors.

Features of the SaaRthi App

The SaaRthi App is a SEBI initiative with views to provide investors with knowledge about the securities market. The app is available to both Android and Apple users and is available in Hindi and English.

The app contains information about system types, investment opportunities, risk gauge usage, and more. With the recent increase in private investors entering the market and, more importantly, the majority of mobile-based transactions, this app helps to easily access relevant information.

The securities market helps transfer resources from those who have undeveloped resources to those who need them productively. About SEBI

  1. The Securities and Exchange Board of India was established on April 12, 1988, by a resolution of the Government of India as a non-statutory body to address and advise on all issues related to the securities market and the protection of investors.

What does the SaaRthi App mean?

Recently, SEBI has released the SaaRthi Application, an investor education mobile app. "R" stands for "₹". The purpose is to make investors sensitive to the basic concepts of the securities market. The app also describes the KYC process, transactions and settlements, investment trusts (MFs), recent market trends, investor complaint relief mechanisms, and more.

Importantly, the majority of transactions are mobile-based. According to NSE (National Stock Exchange) data - India's largest financial market, the share of private investors increased from 39% in 2020 to 45% in 2021.
