The Global Climate Change Alliance [GCCA] is referred to as an initiative of the European Union. It was formed in 2007. Its main objective is to form a new and effective alliance between the European Union and the developing countries to deal with climate change. At present, this initiative is known as the Global Climate Change Alliance Plus (GCCA+).

Since its inception, there have been many new plans and strategies. These were done to support the Agenda of Sustainable Development (2030) and the 2015 Paris Agreement based on Climate Change.

About the Global Climate Change Alliance [GCCA]

  • Global Climate Change Alliance [GCCA] aims to assist countries badly affected by climate change. This initiative focuses on the climatic changes occurring in vulnerable countries worldwide.
  • After a few years, in 2015, the GCCA entered its new phase. In this new phase, it became a flagship initiative. This flagship initiative was called GCCA+ or The global change alliance plus.
  • GCCA+ initiative also aims to provide assistance and support the Nationally Determined Contributions that include middle-class income countries.
  • The collective initiative of GCCA and GCCA+ now also acts as a platform for exchanging knowledge regarding climate policy and how it can be used in the budgets and developmental policies.
  • Global Climate Change Alliance [GCCA] is managed and coordinated by the EU (European Union). It provides technical and financial support to fellow countries.
