UP Home Guard Bharti Exam Pattern Overview

Aspirants are anxiously waiting for the notification from the Uttar Pradesh Recruitment Department for the UP Home Guard Bharti Exam 2021. The tentative number of vacancies is 19000+. UP Home Guard Exam Pattern 2021

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) tests the candidates on various levels to recruit them as a UP Home Guard. Listed below is the exam pattern for each level: 

UP Home Guard Written Test Exam Pattern

The candidates must sit for a written examination that will test their General Awareness, Mathematical ability, English skills and Hindi skills. Each section has 25 questions, and the exam has a total of 100 marks.

UP Home Guard Physical Measurement Test

The aspirant must pass the physical requirement test to qualify for the next round for the UP Home Guard recruitment. The criteria are listed below:

General/SC Category

In the General or SC category, the chest measurements should be as follows:

Male - chest contracted 78.8 cm and expanded 83.8 cm, and the height should be 167.7 cm.

ST Category 

Male - the candidate's height should be 160cm, and his chest measurements should be 76.5 cm when contracted and 81.5 cm when expanded.

Hill Station Candidates

The height specification for males from hill stations is 162.6 cm, and chest measurement contracted should be 76.5 cm and expanded should be 81.5 cm.

Women Candidates

The height criteria for women candidates is 152 cm in the general and SC category, 147 cm ST category, and 147 cm for those from the Hill-Station category.

UP Home Guard Physical Efficiency Test

In the subsequent round, the Board tests the physical ability or stamina of the candidate with varied criteria.

Males 

The male candidates must prepare themselves for a 1500 meters race. The candidate is scored by the time he takes to finish the race. The scores based on the time the candidate records are listed below:

  • 10 minutes - 5 marks
  • 8 minutes - 7 marks
  • 6 minutes - 10 marks

Female

The female candidates must run a 400 meters race. The assessment is as follows:

  • 2.5 minutes -10 marks
  • 3.5 minutes - 7 marks
  • 4 minutes - 5 marks

The Board disqualifies candidates who cannot finish the race in the specified time from the selection process. 

UP Home Guard Interview

Those who cleared the first two rounds, enter the next round of testing -the interview, which carries 10 marks. Here, questions are asked by eminent people in their respective fields. 

UP Home Guard Marks Weightage

The UP Home Guard Bharti aspirants are awarded marks based on specified criteria as listed below:

Educational Qualification

10+2 or for those who have passed 12th - 5 marks (maximum marks 5).

If the qualification exceeds 12th, for every subsequent higher qualification - mark 1.

Sports (maximum marks 5)

Excellence at:

  • School Level - mark 1
  • District Level - marks 2
  • University Level - marks 3
  • State Level - marks 4 
  • National Level - marks 5.

Record of Past Service (Departmental or Ex-Servicemen)

  • Homeguard Volunteers - marks 5
  • Ex-Servicemen - marks 5

NCC Certification

  • C- certificate holders - marks 5
  • B-certificate holders - marks 3
  • A-certificate/ NSS certificate/Scout holder - marks 2.

Diploma Holders

A total of 5 marks is given to those who hold a diploma from the Indian Government, or State Government (UP) recognized Polytechnic Institute.

UP Home Guard Medical Examination

On clearing the previous rounds of testing, the candidates have to fill a form to register themselves for a medical examination. The Chief Medical Officer will examine them based on the following criteria:

  • Height
  • Chest
  • Flat Foot
  • Colour Blindness 

The candidates are recruited for the Home Guard post if the Chief Medical Officer certifies them as medically fit on the grounds mentioned above.
