The UP APO exam syllabus consists of two parts. The first part carries 50 marks, and the second part has 100 marks. So, the examination has a total of 150 marks. Part 1 consists of questions from varied areas, including Geography, Science, Current Events, History of India, Indian National Movement, and Indian Politics and Economy.
The second part consists of questions of law, from the Indian Penal Code and Evidence Act, Criminal Procedure Code, and the UP Police Act and Regulations. Only the General Knowledge and Law sections will be descriptive, while all the other areas will be objective. Also, each correct answer fetches you a mark, while for each wrong answer, you will lose a third of the scores.
If you successfully manage to get the required cut-off scores, you get to go through the main exam. In the main exam, you will face questions from General Knowledge, General English and Hindi, Criminal Law and Procedure, and Law of Evidence. The UPPSC APO Main exam carries 500 marks, where each section has 100 marks.
