This increment has been welcomed and is now one of the highest pay scales offered by the government sector. While senior employees have benefitted the most from this increment, the revised pay scale also provides many benefits to new employees. The UPPSC conducts exams for various sub-divisional, district, divisional, and state-level posts, where the job role typically involves overseeing the administration of the respective departments.

There are three such posts, and the pay scale for each varies, depending on the grade. For instance, all state-level posts come under the pay scale of Rs. 9,300-34,800 to Rs. 15,600-39,100. Similarly, the UPPSC also recruits Level 10 Assistant Conservators and Level 8 Range Forest Officers with varying pay scales.

To secure the post of APO in the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, the eligible candidate must be a law graduate from any recognized university or law school. Also, they must be between the ages of 21 and 40 and must go through three stages of selection.

The UP APO exam syllabus consists of two parts. The first part carries 50 marks, and the second part has 100 marks. So, the examination has a total of 150 marks. Part 1 consists of questions from varied areas, including Geography, Science, Current Events, History of India, Indian National Movement, and Indian Politics and Economy.

The second part consists of questions of law, from the Indian Penal Code and Evidence Act, Criminal Procedure Code, and the UP Police Act and Regulations. Only the General Knowledge and Law sections will be descriptive, while all the other areas will be objective. Also, each correct answer fetches you a mark, while for each wrong answer, you will lose a third of the scores.

If you successfully manage to get the required cut-off scores, you get to go through the main exam. In the main exam, you will face questions from General Knowledge, General English and Hindi, Criminal Law and Procedure, and Law of Evidence.
