The KTET eligibility criteria vary for Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3, and Paper 4 as per the official notification. There is no age limit to apply for the KTET exam. KTET Education Qualification 2022

Candidates who want to apply for teaching jobs through KTET 2022 must have a minimum educational qualification. The education eligibility criteria for the KTET vary depending on the paper for which candidates have applied. The candidates' KTET educational qualifications are listed separately for paper 1, paper 2, paper 3, and paper 4. Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

OR

Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 4 years B.A / B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed or B.Sc.Ed

Paper/ Category 3 High School Classes (Class 9-12)

[The test is for HSAs in: (i) Malayalam (ii) English (iii) Hindi (iv) Sanskrit (v) Tamil (vi) Kannada (vii) Arabic (viii) Urdu (ix) Social Science (x) Physical Science (xi) Natural Science and (xii) Mathematics]

BA/B.Sc./B.Com. with minimum 45% marks along with B.Ed. Degrees in the concerned subject from a recognized university are required for appearing in the KTET exam.

OR

In the case of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, those who have M.Sc. Ed. Degrees in the concerned subject with a minimum of 50% marks from the recognized institute will be eligible.

OR

BA or equivalent with at least 45% marks and LTTC passed candidates are eligible to apply. 

Paper/ Category 4 High School Classes (Class 9-12)

[For Urdu, Hindi, Sanskrit, Arabic language, and specialist teachers in Physical Education.]

The aspirants who possess the requisite qualification for language teacher of Hindi, Sanskrit, Arabic & Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers & Physical Education teachers as per the rules are eligible to apply.

Kerala TET Age Limit Criteria

The Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test is an eligibility exam. The minimum age limit to appear for the exam is 21 years. To guarantee that their candidature fits the criteria, candidates should have a thorough understanding of the KTET age limit criteria. As per the latest KTET eligibility criteria, there is no upper age limit for the exam.

  • Minimum KTET Age Limit Criteria: 21 years.
  • Maximum KTET Age Limit Criteria: No upper age limit.

However, the candidates who belong to reserved categories will be provided KTET reservations as per their category. Category 1 (Lower Primary Classes)

Candidates from the SC/ST and differently-abled groups are eligible for a 5% qualifying mark relaxation. Candidates from the OBC and OEC are also given a 3% reduction in qualifying marks. 

Category 2 (Upper Primary Classes)

Candidates from the SC/ST and differently-abled groups will be given a 5% relaxation in the qualifying scores. For OBC and OEC candidates, a 3% relaxation is allowed as long as they meet the minimum qualifying marks. 

Category 3 (High School Classes)

Candidates from the SC/ST and differently-abled categories will be given a fifty-mark exemption from the minimum qualifying marks. OBC and OEC candidates for the KTET will receive a 3% reduction in their qualifying marks. 

Category 4 (Language Teacher or Specialist Teacher)

Candidates from the SC/ST and differently-abled categories will be given a fifty-mark relaxation in the qualifying marks required to appear for the KTET.

Candidates from the OBC and OEC categories will be given a 3 marks exemption in the qualifying marks required for KTET eligibility.

KTET Nationality Criteria

Candidates must ensure their KTET nationality criteria before applying for the exam. Any Indian candidate who is otherwise eligible for the exam can apply for the KTET exam. The KTET nationality criteria are as follows:

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • Candidates from all across the country can apply for the exam, although candidates from the state of Kerala are given preference.
