KTET 2023 is a Teacher Eligibility Test that is conducted twice a year to recruit candidates as a teacher in government schools of Kerala. KTET consists of different categories including Category 1 (Lower Primary classes), Category 2 (Upper Primary classes), Category 3 (High School classes), and Category 4 [for Language Teachers (Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu), Specialist Teachers (Art & Craft) and Physical Education teachers].
KTET also referred to as Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test is an exam conducted to appoint teachers in various government schools in Kerala. It is a state-level exam organized by The Government of Kerala. This examination tests the candidates' skills as a teacher. After qualifying the KTET exam, candidates can apply as a teacher for Upper Primary, Lower Primary, and High Schools in the state.
The guidelines of the KTET exam are formulated by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Kerala. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)/ Department of General Education/Government of Kerala also contributed to these guidelines.
Note: The KTET 2022 exam includes three categories, Category 1 - Lower Primary classes, Category 2 - Upper Primary Classes, and Category 3 - High School Classes. Separate tests are conducted for each category to select teachers for various positions.
