Updated Technical Requirements for NLAT 2020

National Law School of India University (Bengaluru) has released the notification regarding " Updated Technical Requirements for NLAT 2020". NLAT 2020 is scheduled to be held on 12th September.

Candidates who wish to appear for the National Law Aptitude Test 2020 (the “NLAT 2020”) must ensure that their computer systems meet the following requirements/ specifications:


1. Supported Devices:

  • Desktop computers, laptop computers, and Android mobile devices (phones and tablets) only.

2. Operating System:

  • For Desktops and Laptops: Window 7 or above (Windows 10 recommended), Mac OS 10.13 and above, and Linux (ubuntu versions 18.04, 16.04, 15.04 only) systems.
  • For Android Devices: Android version 6 and later

3. Minimum Configuration (Applicable for Desktops and Laptops only):

  • Processor: Core 2 Duo and above; Processor speed: 1.5 GHz and above; RAM: minimum 1 GB.

4. Browser:

  • Google Chrome (84.0.4147.135 or later) only. Click here to download the latest version of Google Chrome.

5. The user account must have administrator privileges to install the required applications.

6. Pop-up blockers on the web browser must be disabled.

7. Java Script must be enabled.

8. The antivirus must be disabled.

9. Minimum Internet Bandwidth: 512 Kbps minimum; the remote proctoring software streams exam data, including audio and video, directly to the cloud as you take the NLAT 2020. In order to allow the continuous transfer of exam data, the specified minimum connection speed must be maintained at all times.

10. Ensure system time is set in accordance with Indian Standard Time (GMT +5:30).

11. Integrated/ attached webcam mandatorily required. The examination system should be permitted access (if requested) to the camera during the examination.

12. The examination system shall not permit the use of video conferencing services, screen sharing/ remote screen projection services, virtual machines, etc.; in the event the system detects attempts to use such tools or services, the candidate may be disqualified from the examination.

13. Integrated/ attached microphone mandatorily required. The examination system should be permitted access (if requested) to the microphone during the examination.

14. Use of wired/ wireless headphones/ earphones/ other audio devices shall not be permitted.
