TISSNET Exam Pattern 2023

As per the previous years’ trends, TISSNET Exam has three sections: General English, Mathematics & Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness. There will be a total of 100 questions, and the candidates have to complete the test in 1 hour and 40 minutes. 

TISSNET is a computer-based test, consisting of 100 MCQs. So, the candidates preparing for TISSNET Exam must know that they have to complete all the sections within this time limit. Note that there are no negative markings in this exam. Additionally, the candidates have to get the qualifying marks in the General Awareness section, as this section has sectional cut-offs.

TISSNET Exam Pattern - Pre-Interview Test

After the declaration of TISSNET Result, the qualified aspirants have to appear in the PIT (Pre-interview Test) and PI (Personal Interview) rounds based on their names on the Merit List. Note the below structure to understand the PIT round:

  • Test Type­ – Written Test or Group Discussion
  • Total Marks– 50 marks
  • Type of Questions – Essay Writing, Case Studies, etc.
  • Weightage – 70%

[Important Note: The candidates must be aware that the TISSNET Score will only be used to shortlist aspirants for STAGE 2. However, it will not be added to the final TISSNET Exam Score. The scores of PIT and PI rounds will be aggregated in the ratio of 70:30 ratio for the final selection of the aspirants.]

TISSMAT Exam Pattern

TISS-Mumbai has introduced an additional test for admission to its management courses. The exam pattern of TISSMAT is different from TISSNET Exam Pattern. TISSMAT Question Paper will consist of three sections with 15 questions in each one of them.

  • TISS Mumbai announces the TISSNET Exam Pattern along with the official notification of the exam. The candidates who are preparing for the upcoming exam must be well-versed with the entire details of the TISSNET Exam Pattern.

  • As per the official updates, there is 3 exam section: English Proficiency, Mathematics & Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness. There is no negative marking in TISSNET Exam. Additionally, the General Awareness section has a sectional cutoff, while the other two sections do not have any sectional cut-off.

  • Yes, both of these exams are quite different. There is one descriptive writing section in the TISSMAT Exam. While TISSNET Exam is completely MCQ-based. Besides, there is no negative marking in TISSNET, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer in TISSMAT.
