About IIM Ranchi:

IIM Ranchi is the ninth IIM and was established in the year 2009. It holds the 21st rank as per the rankings released by NIRF for management schools in India for the year 2021. Apart from the two-year full-time flagship course in General Management PGP (MBA), it also offers a full-term 2-year course in Human Resource Management (PGP-HRM/MBA-HRM) and Business Analytics (PGP-BA/MBA-BA). The institute is committed to offering high-quality programs and in recent years introduced the Integrated Program in Management (IPM).  

As per the Outlook ICARE 2022 survey for top public MBA institutions in India, IIM Ranchi holds the 10the position amongst the top 26 public MBA institutes in India. It also offers a fellow program in management (FPM), funded by the government, and a 24-month post-graduate degree programme in management (PGEXP). 

IIM Ranchi was established in 2010 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The highlights of this institute have been listed below:

IIM Ranchi has been ranked at the 10th position among the 26 best business management institutes (public) as per Outlook ICARE Ranking 2022. The institute has maintained its improved rankings with the NIRF ranking of IIM Ranchi being 21 for the year 2021.

The ranking highlights for the institute are as follows:-

Candidates seeking admission to any of the programs offered by IIM Ranchi are required to fill an online application form. They can submit this either online or offline mode. However, for the flagship program (PGP), candidates are required to apply on the official website of CAT. The following criteria need to be met for the same:

• Admission to PGP (MBA) at IIM Ranchi is based on CAT, followed by a Personal Interview (PI).
• Admission to MBA-HRM is offered based on a valid score in CAT followed by PI.
• Selection for PGEXP is based on the applicant's profile and marks scored in the personal interview.
• Admission to PhD, offered at IIM Ranchi, is based on CAT/GATE/GRE/GMAT and NET-JRF (UGC/CSIR) exams, followed by a personal interview.

The CAT cut-off for IIM Ranchi for the MBA & MBA-BA programs is 94ile% and 93ile%, respectively (for general category students). WAT has been excluded from the admission process, and PIs are going to be conducted virtually. The final admission to MBA and MBA-BA at IIM Ranchi is based on CAT score, academic profile, work experience, gender diversity, and performance in the personal Interview round.

Please note that the above Cut off is an indication of the candidates’ eligibility post appearing for the qualifying exam. The call for PI is based on various parameters including the CAT score. 

As per the IIM Ranchi placement report for the academic Batch of 2019-21, IIM Ranchi had around 128 companies that participated in its placement drive. The Highest CTC stood at INR 26.50 LPA, whereas the Average CTC stood at INR 14.69 LPA.

The institute has also released its summer internship placement report for batch 2020-22. During this, 135 companies participated in the placement drive. Out of the total number, 68 were first-time recruiters, and the Highest Stipend stood at INR 3.36 Lakhs, and the Average Stipend stood at INR 97.5 K.

Top recruiters that participated in the placement drive were Asian Paints, Dell Technologies, JP Morgan, Chase & Co, Mahindra, Titan, L&T, Yes Bank, Cognizant, KPMG, Accenture, etc. 

IIM Ranchi MBA Placements 2022 Highlights:

IIM Ranchi offers postgraduate, executive, and doctoral, and programs such as PGP, PGPHRM, PGEXP PhD and E-PhD. The eligibility criteria, along with the fee structure for some of the prominent programs, is given below:

The fee structure varies according to an applied stream of education at IIM Ranchi. IIM Ranchi offers scholarships in Need-Based Financial Assistance (NBFA) to the PGP/ IPM students whose gross annual family income is less than Rs 4.5 lakh in that academic year. There are certain relaxations available to NC-OBC, SC, ST, EWS, and PwD students.

The fees do not include the cost of accommodation, so it is recommended to read the brochure and fee details for each course carefully at the time of taking admission. Also, it may vary for international students.

The approximate fee structure for various courses at IIM Ranchi is as follows:

IIM Ranchi- Indian Institute of Management Scholarships and Funding for IIM Ranchi can be availed through various departments and ministries of the Government of India. Students seeking financial aid need to fulfill the required criteria for the same, as per the different scholarship schemes. The details of it can be found on the official website of the National Scholarship Portal of the Government of India. 

IIM Ranchi has a well-organized infrastructure and state-of-the-art facilities for its students. These include:

Library- Athenaeum, the library at IIM Ranchi (Khelgaon campus), is stacked with both print and electronic formats of books, journals, CDs/DVDs, databases, reports, e-journals, and so on. It provides both in-house and network-based services to the users. 

Hostel- The hostel option is available at IIM Ranchi is available at both Dhurwa, the permanent campus, and Khelgaon, the temporary campus. The hostel at Khelgaon has three-bedroom and four-bedroom flats, fully furnished and installed with 5-star facilities. There is a mess and a canteen for each block, which remains functional for almost 20 hours a day. 

Other facilities- Apart from the above, IIM Ranchi Khelgaon campus offers a well-developed sports complex for its students, computer labs, cafeteria, gym, hospital, and medical facilities, a/c classrooms, an auditorium, free wi-fi on the campus, shuttle services, etc. The new (permanent) campus in Dhurwa is at present ready with 10 classrooms, the Director’s chamber, the Administrative building, dining hall and faculty quarters. The campus is expected to complete construction soon. 

IIM Ranchi Hostel:

Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi’s permanent campus is at the last stages of completion. The permanent campus at Dhurwa has opened its doors and can accommodate up to 400 students. The remaining students will be placed at the government provided facility in Khelgaon. Students will attend classes at their respective campus location as allocated by the administration. The Khelgao location has awesome residential facilities at the residential block of the sports complex, located in the outskirts of Ranchi. It has 3-bedroom and 4-bedroom shared flats, fully furnished, serviced, and installed with five-star amenities. There are separate blocks for girls and boys, and each block has a mess and a canteen. There are common announcement systems for each floor of the block. 

IIM Ranchi is well known for its robust alumni network and has a renowned faculty line-up. There are 40+ permanent faculty members at IIM Ranchi presently and a range of guest lecturers from renowned institutes and colleges across the nation and even from across the borders.
