 3Word: Calibration (ठीक करना)

  • Pronunciation: kal-uh-brey-shuhn/ कैलब्रैशन
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning
    a. the act or process of determining, checking, or rectifying the settings or gradations on a measuring instrument or another piece of precision equipment; the resulting condition of the equipment:

  • Synonyms: envision, imagine, visualize

5. Word: Fetch (ले आना)

  • Pronunciation: fech/ फेच
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning:
    a. go or come after and bring or take back
    b. take away or remove
    c. be sold for a certain price
  • Synonyms: bring, retrieve, collect
  • Antonyms: avoid, take-away, free

6. Word: Tract (इलाका)

  • Meaning:

7. Word: Constraint (बहुत अधिक नियंत्रण)

  • Meaning:
    a. limitation or restriction.
    b. repression of natural feelings and impulses:
    c. unnatural restraint in manner, conversation, etc.; embarrassment.

  • Antonyms: permission, liberty, freedom 
  • Usage in a sentence: The non-availability of more land is a major constraint in the growth of agriculture.

8. Word: Languish (क्षीण होना)

  • Pronunciation: lang-gwish/ लैंगग्विश

  • Meaning:
    a. to be or become weak or feeble; droop; fade.
    b. to lose vigor and vitality.
    c. to undergo neglect or experience prolonged inactivity; suffer hardship and distress:

9. Word: Adverse (प्रतिकूल)

  • Meaning:
    a. unfavourable or antagonistic in purpose or effect:
    b. opposing one's interests or desire:
    c. being or acting in a contrary direction; opposed or opposing:
  • Synonyms: detrimental, negative, unfavourable 
  • Antonyms: favourable, anodyne, fortunate 
  • Usage in a sentence: A health magazine carried out a campaign on the adverse effects of mercury amalgam.

10. Word: Checks and balance ()

  • Part of Speech: Noun 
  • Meaning:
    a. limits imposed on all branches of a government by vesting in each branch the right to amend or void those acts of another that fall within its purview.
  • Synonyms: limits, restrictions, constraints 
  • Antonyms: liberation, freedom, permission
  • Usage in a sentence: The policies should be implemented, keeping all the checks and balances in mind.
